This mysterious foreign number 10 seems to be Roberto's major target this summer so if he thought Payet was ~*the one*~ then I'm sure he'd have matched £14m. Quietly confident that whoever we get will end up being the better buy.

If we really want him, then it's a disgrace if we're not able to match that offer. There should easily be £20m there minimum.

I see where you're coming from but we don't always have to sign players with sell on potential.

We could sign him and he could be a vital player for us for the next 4 years.

Haha, I have watched him a fair bit to be honest and would definitely take him for say half that price, but at the age he is I don't think a club such as us can spend that much money on a player we definitely won't get anything back from profits wise.

He could be, and I'm not denying his talent at all, but I think there's also younger number 10s available and I think that sell on value is huge for clubs like us with a small amount to spend every year.

I've No doubt that if Martinez had really really wanted him imo 14m would have been there. I'm not saying he wasn't interested as he's probably got 3 like minded players he's keen on but he may have had a figure in his mind and he just simply feels 14m is far too much.

I've never seen him play tbh, in fact I've barely seen any of the players that get mentioned on here but I'm pretty relaxed about this so called "playmaker" we are after as I think he would have had his eye on him around 8 months ago. I think tying Del deal up next week will be another great piece of business so we are ticking along nicely atm.

It is a big deal like, but we need ready made players too who are quality now and in their prime. We already have 4-5 players with big sell on potential, maybe more that we don't know about.
