Summer Transfer Window - Credible Rumours Only Please

Reading on this site that we are interested in Negredo.
Thoughts?
I reckon he would be ideal, as long is it doesn't mean we lose Lukaku!

Mirror running story on negredo. Nonsense rumour. Wanted to go back to spain. 6 in 34 last season so never got going.
I would have taken him last year instead of Rom. Class on his day though.

Dzeko/Negredo loan
Deulofeu loan-to-buy
Toby Alderweireldedledled purchased.

My shopping list if I was Bobby Mart.

Does a "rival" fan based webpage count? Pretty sure they are separating conjecture from the limited amount of truths out there - just saying !

If you trace it back it's from the Mirror

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-citys-alvaro-negredo-facing-5865682

so, it's almost certainly jarg, but I guess we have to file it under "vaguely credible".
24 million though ? If that's true it's not going to happen

Trace back? Seriously has this become an exercise in routing out jarg and vaguely credible rumours and their origins? I understand the need for a less congested forum but we're none of us any more credible than the next man, save a few here n there.

You know, I've been thinking....(always dangerous)...players that state they want to play Champions League from teams that aren't in the CL. Am I being naieve in thinking that's a selfish attitude?

Essentially, are they saying "I want to play in a team that's already done all the hard work & made it to CL football." meaning "I don't want to have to work to get this team into the CL, I'd rather someone else has already done it for me"

you're right .... it is dangerous to think ha

nah, tbh a footballer's career is short - i think ideally most that don't play for their boyhood club would rather be given the first scenario to enjoy more years at the top level. lazy so and so's. already getting paid well over the odds.

Haha
Aye, that was probably a bit anal retentive ( though I'd prefer the term analytical ).

It was cos I went to toffeeweb who were quoting FastOneTwo as their source, who I'd never heard off.
FastOneTwo were quoting the Mirror

Anyway, Negredo. He was immense when he joined City then lost his way after getting injured and has never recovered any form.

I can't see them loaning him out, mind you, I can't see them selling him on for what they just paid for him either. Citeh did a cracking deal there putting in a "must buy at 24 million" clause so I'd guess Valencia will find someone to sell him to for 18 to 20 million and take the hit. Pretty unlikely he'll end up here, but stranger things have happened.

Has anyone seen much of Payet? I've only seen his YouTube video but I'm not convinced he's really what we need.

Was it his ability to create attacking chances that put you off? Maybe you are right, and we are better off having the likes of Barry, Besic and McCarthy applying their respective creative abilities in midfield.

Payet is exactly what we need. Somebody with a creative spark who can provide the service that Rom needs. None of this passing side to side in midfield for 90% of the game. His age doesnt bother me, he can come in and do a decent job for 3/4 years.

The think that puts me off payet is that he is 29 next year, can we really afford to be spending big him? So for that reason I would rather see us go for Rafael silva a younger player who would have a better resale value

Rafael Silva is not a playmaker - it's the biggest myth on here - he's really not even that good either, and is much more of a Del type than a traditional playmaker. Anyway, there's nothing wrong with signing a 28-year-old, if the price is right and he's good enough and, more importantly, what we need.

Silva is a winger just like Deulofeu but some on here have been suggesting Deulofeu at number 10...

If Barkley is moved back into central midfield (which seems to be the case based on martinez wanting a number 10) and Mirallas also leaves (which i think is highly likely) then we will need two wingers and a playmaker.

Wingers linked repeatedly have been:
Deulofeu, Silva and Januzaj.

Playmaker only Payet i think...?

Payet is the type of player that we need, so if we are indeed interested then it shows that RM knows what he's looking for. He's comfortable on either wing, or in the middle, but his passing ability is superb.
