Well if a player is not performing, there is no reason why another player shouldn't take his place. Or rest players and have genuine quality to replace them. Distin and alcaraz where no substitute for jags and stones last season. Likewise Naismith was no cover for the wide role last season.

But that doesn't change the fact that they are been brought in as back up, primarily. However, if they are playing well then they will play. But that can be said for any player that is signed. This CB will not be signed to go straight into the first XI instead of Jags and Stones, but will be used to apply pressure to them and if they play well, will keep their place. But that doesn't change the fact that they will be back up to our main pair.

However, FCInter1908 have since tracked down the player’s agent Silvano Martina who says that he hasn’t had any contact with either his client or interest parties over the issue, insisting: “Everton ? Absolutely not , we haven’t received any offer . I’ve not heard from the lad since he left for his holidays."
