Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

You need to raise your standards if you think ‘tried his best’ is all we can ask for. Jesus wept.

And we wonder why we’ve been utter toilet for 35 years.
”Tried his best” is all anyone can ask of any player. To suggest otherwise makes no sense whatsoever.

The reason we have been so bad for 35 years is people in charge of the club recruiting and paying players, whose best is miles from good enough.

There is no suggestion that a player of Harrison’s ability should be enough for Everton, rather a understanding that he was the player we had, and that he could not be asked for more than he was capable of.

The only players who should be looked down on are those who don’t give their all. Whatever that may be. And the only people you should direct your clumsy anger at are those who were running the club.

The fact that message got 2 likes says it all
Some of our fans are embarrassing.
The acceptance of mediocrity is their standard
Actually, the fact that some of our fans think a player putting on the blue jersey, doing all he can, putting in all the honest endeavour he has to offer, and not hiding in any way, should be lambasted… that’s embarrassing. Pathetic, even.

Blame the club for hiring Harrison if you must, not Harrison himself.

You obviously like him
Because in 1 post you say he deserves credit, what for???
And he help keep us up apparently
And in another’s you say Leeds 1-0 Harrison to get the winner bookmark this.

So you’re obviously a fan, 90% of us aren’t.
He’s a very average footballer and I wouldn’t take him on a free

Did he try his best tho i kno did tracking back ect but cant really accept the lack of any attacking input. Maybe was a confidence thing. I do agree with you the blame does mainly fall on those who have been running the club. But also for me i refuse to accept that well most of this team fail to make simple passes and even take a set piece. Not saying we have the best side but will no give thek a pass with the experience they have to not even do the baisic skills even lower down the leagues can do

It's because we've had failing ownership, management and playing staff mate. Not because @Blue Alert appreciates Jack Harrison's effort.
But if more of the fan base had more ambition, the likes of kenwright would have been bombed 15yrs before he did. That’s the point. Instead of criticising the fans who wanted change and clapping him on the big screen

I literally said a few posts ago that he’s been [Poor language removed]. And that he obviously isn’t good enough. I’m not a fan - but do know that a player doing his best is all you can ask. The solution is get better players, not expect miracles from those we have.

You won’t find ppl in the fanbase who lack ambition - or at least you shouldn’t - but Kenwright moved for nobody but himself. The narcissistic prick that he was. You just need to understand that appreciating the efforts of limited players, when that is all we had / have, is not the same as accepting everlasting mediocrity. Going forward we should be moving beyond players like Jack Harrison, sure, but bearing a grudge because he wasn’t what you wanted is nuts.

To a point, I blame the club and Dyche for taking him for a second season when he was clearly an average championship level player.
Getting a winger soley based on his only talent being that he worked hard for the teams defense, is kind of not his fault.
