Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Know nothing about him,but could he be like Gueye,as fit in his 30s as he was in his 20s? Did he play for United under Moyes? Does Moyes rate him?

He was at United after Moyes left.

I’m not sure why everyone is so against this. He’s a top player. in the 5 seasons he was at utd they finished 2nd twice, 3rd once and 6th the other 2 times. Mourinho took him to Fenerbache and I’d say he’s a decent judge of a player.

Granted I wouldn’t want to be paying too much for him (like any transfer) but he’d be a massive upgrade on Garner and would instantly be one of our best players.

I agree for a self proclaimed super club its laughable , but like you say compared to us its also laughable.

This is why we get left behind on a regular basis

I know the finance stuff is dull - but Spurs revenue is above Chelsea and not a million miles from Liverpool.

They are a league ahead of us in that respect.

So they are bit like a mini-Utd where the football has become a bit secondary to some very good looking finances.

They really saved their blushes this season by winning the cup / qualifying for CL. I'll assume that wasn't the plan from the beginning.

Fred is the player we should have been buying last year, he would have went straight into the starting line up and would have improved things right away. He would have offered a bit of steel and would have played regularly. We needed that sort of player to make sure we stayed in the Premier League. I was hoping we had moved beyond stabilising and were now looking to improve into the future. I don’t think buying a 32 year old for something approaching £15 million is a forward thinking move.

Yes but again we could have easily kept up with that revenue. 20 years ago is when they started to build their brand now look ar the difference.

I agree their league form was atrocious but I'd swap seasons in a heartbeat

Be interesting to see how Frank does at Tottenham as its a difficult club to manage and despite him doing well at Brentford he still has to prove he can manage a different kind of player and expectation
I agree, he's got that edge to him which will see him deal with that . The owners are the ones he's got to win over . He simply won't get the time he's needed at Brentford

Indeed , I was one of many saying that he won't get game time at Chelsea and that they will sign a much better CF as a starter.

However Delap's ego probably outweighs his ability.

From Chelsea's POV £30 million was simply too good a deal to pass on and they will add him to the churn.

it’s quite funny really. could’ve been a hero for us at the new ground but he’ll be on the bench all year for them. will miss the world cup. loaned to fulham the next year
