Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Spurs are garbage, Villa don’t have the money. It comes down to us and Newcastle, and I’m not sure if they have the spare PSR money either.

Villa could do with getting their amortisation bill down mate, while they were doing heavy lifting on wages for Rashford and Asensio similar to Grealish, the loan might suit them and him.

He’s a Villa boy of course.

Best way to persuade people - show them the league table since Moyes came in. This team has a lot of potential with the right additions.

I can’t see him taking a hair cut on 300k a week with two years left mate - I think the deal will depend on Citys conditions, interest and who is willing to offer City the best deal to cover his wage.

Villa have done it with Rashford and Asenio - they see it as worth while as it controls their ammortisation and safeguards them if by chance they didn’t qualify for Europe - I could see them or Newcastle offering 300k for a loan.

I think our best offer would be 150k, I don’t think that gets the deal over the line with other reported interest.

Even if we decided to pay him 300k a week - which we defo shouldn’t - then you have issues of no Europe and the draw of Villa.

I just don’t see us as a realistic option based on the above mate.

Yeah, you’re probably right. He’s definitely worth the gamble if a financial package can be worked out though as he is a tremendous talent.

I think we make Europe easy next season if he signs up for us.

Would a player relish the opportunity to the main man at such a defensively tough team as we are? If he did he’d definitely get a platform to show his talent and to deliver a couple of fingers to the critics. A lot comes down to how he feels about it himself.

By the end of the window he’ll have a lot of options as clubs go through their list of targets.

The only chance Everton have here is being early and him wanting it settled now.

I'll admit I have very little clue about the financial permutations, but I could see Grealish being a great fit for us in terms of temperament. I think he'd galvanise a lot of our attacking players and quickly become a fan favourite.

I like what I've seen of Barry too. Them two together would be far more exciting than the prospect of Delap and Doak.
