Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

What’s right for city isn’t what’s right for us though.

I like Grealish. I don’t particularly see what he offers to us though? Particularly given that we have N’Diaye to carry the ball on the left.

If we’re looking at figures

Grealish £150k a week (minimum) + loan fee (? Could be anything but at a conservative £3m for the season)
= £10.8m one season and then worth nothing to us

Soucek £100k a week and £15m over 4 years = £8.75m a year, becoming less and less valuable to us each year

Perhaps as someone else has suggested, looking elsewhere completely would be best

If you take the 3 attacking midfield positions:

LW
ACM
RW

We have Ndiaye, Alcaraz and McNeil.

There are 2 additional players required.

We have loads of positions to fill with young players but we also need others to push us up the league immediately.

Grealish coming in at £150k wages and a loan fee 'could' catapult us up the league for one season on loan.

His ability to drive forward with the ball and his desire to win could rub off on the other players -- improving multiple players with one single loan signing.

Media attention would be there as well, which impacts games shown on TV at I think a value of £1mil a pop(?).

For me, a loan of Jack Grealish is a no brainer.

How can we? It could only ever be a loan and City would have to pay over £10m next season for us to have him on loan, seems do-able yeah?
Yeah, win win, Jack gets regular game time to give himself a shot at going to the World Cup, we get a quality player in a key position for a year while we’re still rebuilding and City get part of his wages off the bill that can go towards another signing

Fair points made. Each league placing is worth circa £2m a position as well

Perhaps we can take another and fund that for us aswell.... it`s fantasy world that City will fund Everton signings to that degree.

He will be over 30 and harder to sell next season going in to the last year of his contract. It makes sense that City will want to sell now and get something back on their investment and not be paying 10s of millions for other teams to use him for the next 2 years.

They may have lots of money but they are not stupid....
