Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Chelsea are watching Emanuel Emegha’s development at Strasbourg and have held talks with their partner club over a pre-agreement for the striker to move to England in 2026.

And this is where the issue lies with multi club ownership. Chelsea essentially owns the player, control when and where he moves whilst not officially a Chelsea player.

Just to be mischievous

Quite a lot seem to want Grealish.
30 in September. Has scored 12 league goals in 4 seasons playing in an attacking role for a juggernaut of a Man City team

But hate the idea of Soucek. Only a few months older. On a lower wage. Has scored 16 league goals in the last 2 seasons playing for West Ham.

I know one is a much better footballer than the other, but which one would get results for where we currently are?
Not keen on either, tbh. We should be scouting the next Grealish or picking up a 25 year old Soucek alike from Europe somewhere. Fed up of paying top dollar for over the hill "premier league proven" players. We've been doing that for years and getting steadily worse and more skint. I'm very surprised at how many people still advocate for it as a strategy.

….still no idea what an ‘Everton Da’ is, maybe everybody not in agreement with posters like @Encoder
I can help you out, Eggsy. It's an older fella who constantly compares current players, either at the club or a mooted transfer target, unfavourably to players from Everton teams that existed between 38 and 70 years ago, whilst shaking their fists at the sun and refusing to acknowledge that the game has moved on. They also hate how much money footballers make now, don't like that they have outside interests and sit in herds in the Park End. Hope this helps.

…cheers, a bit of an ageist view then. Have to say, I don’t see lots of that, especially at the match. Thing is, those using the expression will be old themselves one day and with it they’ll have seen lots of good and bad Everton players over their lifetime.

Soucek never gets a move to city that’s the difference. Bernardo silva doesn’t score loads of goals, does that mean you wouldn’t have him. The guy has never been a great goal scorer. McNeil doesn’t score
Many goals, and yet some of our fans think he’s fantastic.
Grealish offers a lot of other qualities, I’m not saying I’d want him, but on a good deal for us I’d have him over soucek all day

Whats the comparison?

Grealish on loan VS Soucek 3 or 4 yr deal

I'd take Grealish on loan all day long.

What’s right for city isn’t what’s right for us though.

I like Grealish. I don’t particularly see what he offers to us though? Particularly given that we have N’Diaye to carry the ball on the left.

Be a bit surprised if these "young uns" see anything these days Eggs as they live and breathe into their mobile phones 24/7 to be able to notice anything mate.

If we’re looking at figures

Grealish £150k a week (minimum) + loan fee (? Could be anything but at a conservative £3m for the season)
= £10.8m one season and then worth nothing to us

Soucek £100k a week and £15m over 4 years = £8.75m a year, becoming less and less valuable to us each year

Perhaps as someone else has suggested, looking elsewhere completely would be best

Tbf I’d put the lower end of the qualification age around 35.
It’s more a mindset, an outlook on all things Everton.

If anything it’s a touch Park Endist.

Deep down everyone knows Grealish can`t be an Everton player next season, the numbers don`t stack up... for some it is a pipe dream but never will be reality and those hoping for Grealish will ultimately be left disappointed.
