Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

In my eyes all the excitement and anticipation for this summer goes out of the window if DCL signs a new deal. The lad is only ever fit for half a season and has one of the worst conversion rates in then league and then factor in that he hasn’t looked one bit arsed about playing for us in his last few cameos. It’d be absolute lunacy to give him a new contract.
Yep. That's the main reason I shared it. I would love to sign a player like Woltemade, but obviously Moyes isn’t interested. Moyes is also apparently a big fan of Calvert-Lewin. It does my head in completely. If it wasn't for Doucoure's inflated sense of self-worth, he'd still be here too. Already showing a lot of bad judgement in the transfer market. New contract offer to Michael Keane too. Also said that Moyes wants Harrison if we can get a deal for £4-5m and that he is very impressed with him, but Leeds' valuation might scupper it, though we have the option to go back later in the window. Just all beggars belief.

At least we signed Alcaraz, though I wonder if that would have happened if Doucoure was staying.

I sincerely hope that this isn't true.
He undoubtedly has talent but is never available.
Not sure whether he is incredibly unlucky with injuries , or whether it is all in his head.
We have put up with him , and made allowances , but the time has come for him to be told to man up.
He must have been told what the contract offer is. Give him the rest of the week to sign it , then withdraw the offer publicly , and punt him.
That gives the fans the message that the club is in charge and will not be messed around.
Calvert-Lewin doesn’t have much talent at all. I have never seen a striker so poor in front of goal. It's that bad that anything else he offers is completely negated. Honestly reckon you could stick some fans in the exact one on one situations he has had and they would score more.

Our owners are making impressive moves (imo).. surely bodes well for our future too

That is a tour de force hire. Gobsmacked a bit, it says a lot about TFG’s competence in recruiting. He strikes me as someone who would only leave for a really assuring project and belief in the hire ups and oversight. That’s a potentially huge move by them.

Honestly I may be in the minority but I don’t hate the Abraham links. For starters I put it in context to the market. Strikers are at a premium right now considering the amount of big hitters needing one. We have massive areas to address with only so deep of pockets to do so in regards to FFP.

If we can keep the powder dry to invest in other crucial areas, Tammy is not all that bad as a stop gap to future windows. With it being ASR the terms would obviously be favorable. Injuries are a worry and maybe the best rationale for doubts, but the player has merit. He has produced good return seasons. Is a very good assisting CF too in regards to link up.

I don’t love it but if we want to deal with what’s usually the most expensive position to address cheaply but with some semblance of rationale or optimism it’s not the worse idea I could cook up.

Could be shrewd usage of a loan slot

I’ve said this before but the club should stay away from Ferguson . I went to last Irish match in the Aviva .. He was shocking . I’m a true and true Irish toffee and I love when we get linked to Irish players but stay away from Ferguson. There’s something going on there in the background . Not sure he would be worth the gamble ..
Thoughy he actually did really well for his goal in that game

If Wirtz is supposedly worth 125 mil then the market is going to be insane this summer

Anything less than 60 mil for Branthwaite simply has to be rejected

£60mil ???

If TFG sell our best player for £60mil while its been made public that contracts were offered for the dreadful players on our books...then what even is the point?

£60mil? Double it.

They should have kept Thelwell.
