Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Coutinho ran around Gana in 2017 to score at Anfield. It’s now 2025 and Gana has only got slower. He’s great at sitting deep, timing interceptions, nicking the ball back, closing passing lanes yes absolutely but he’s not great at dominating space or dominating the ball which is ultimately what we need to do to move forward as a team and be able to play on the front foot.

We wouldn’t have to make so many tackles if our midfield helped us control the ball and possession more.
But Gana is the best player we have? He's shone in a poor side because our football has allowed him to generate stats.

If there are any plans to become more progressive in transition, then his is not the profile of midfielder we need to be first choice at the age of 36.

Very good at what he does, clearly a fantastic teammate and good pro, but we shouldn't be building a side around him unless the expectations are that we're going to be giving possession away regularly.

He’s spent his whole career in the lower leagues, apart from one
Season for Sheffield Utd, he left Coventry to go
To Sheffield Utd he’s 28, not a kid, what’s our ambition to just survive or actually kick on, Brentford, Brighton, Bournemouth wouldn’t touch him and we should have bigger ambitions than them moving forward
And he's a fatty fatty bom-bom.

We've been bemoaning the fact we left things late for years unlike top clubs that move early
I'm happy with the early activity, means late panic is less likely

We have moved early.....but cvvry babies are already panicking.

Its all becaus they probably presumed Delap was ours because he signed a wall at some house....

Not convinced on him personally.

Fitness wise, anyway.
For me, the main problem is that Hamer often plays off the left and that’s about the only position we have strong first and second choices for. In terms of ability tho, I think he can pick the kind of passes that no-one else in our squad can, not one. He’s a very gifted player.

Not building a team around him, more that he's an important piece of a jigsaw

where does Hamer play?

Plays on any stage he wants.

Hard to judge for an end of season game where his side has already been relegated, but he didn't do anything against us.

For a big fee like that then we should be looking at players that can make an immediate impact, not potential for a few years

If you look at Newcastle, they paid big bucks for Hall & Livramento at young ages as full backs. I'd love to have them as our full backs now, wouldnt you?

It all depends on whether we can sign a Rayan Cherki for the right or another blockbuster signing like him. If not then i'd rather we went for potential than 2nd rate.

Im more confident than I have been in a long time, that these owners have more of a plan and know what they are doing.
Agreed, nice not to have Thelwell going around with his begging bowl looking for deals spread out over 5 years and £0 put down straight away.

Hopefully deals will come out of nowhere and we'll see some good signings
