Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

It’s not feasible to go into a season with 12 first team players, so really we’re just going to have to do early business whether it suits the PSR man or not. We sort of don’t have a choice. The recruitment team thing isn’t an excuse either because the owners have had since January to start putting a recruitment team in place. If there still isn’t one then the manager is the recruitment team as it stands, so he better get to work.

You are right, but where I slightly disagree is with the PSR. I don't think it's an issue and the additional 6.2m in league placings probably quelled any worries we may have had, but I can understand caution.

However, deals can be negotiated and then announced July 1st. Lots of teams do it. There's no reason not to be moving forwards.

For me Mangala is a no-brainer on loan providing he's able to get back to fitness somewhere near the start of the season. Lyon will want to see him get fully fit, and given they were previously open to selling him, would probably jump at offloading his wages to us and once again having a chance of selling.

We're going to need to utilise the loan market quite heavily seeing as we deffo won't be signing 5-6 players to jump directly into the starting XI.

Hopefully everybody at Everton has seen more than enough to not want to go anywhere near Harrison or Lindstrom again. That would be a diabolical statement of ill intent if they did!
I like Mangala but I hope that the days of signing players like Broja and waiting for them to get fit are long gone.

I have a source in the Danish National Team who can confirm that Moyes was interested in signing Lindstrom when he was at West Ham - up to you if you want to believe me or not. Also says that Lindstrom wants to come back to Everton next year.

I’m very confident that Moyes watching him deliver absolutely nothing for about 3 months has closed the lid on this one.

But we’ll see.

Junior Furball on a free from Leeds as competition at Left back.

Decent enough, not sure if he’s much of an improvement. Would be giving up his starting place at Leeds. Is more attack minded though

Yep, we’re gonna be struggling for numbers probably, so can’t be waiting on him to get fit again. Especially if he has a setback, or we get injuries in other areas.
That’s why the likes of DLC and Broja are no good to us, too unreliable fitness…. and performance wise!

We’ve got pre season games essentially 2 months away, I doubt we’ll be standing on ceremony for later in the window with only 12 players contracted.

Shouts for Tyrer are well off the mark, hes a kid. If you can find a premier league team with a youth player as backup keeper I’d be stunned.

Armstrong should come up, but that’s probably about it.

We need 8/9 players at least.

Tyrer will be 24 halfway through the season so he's certainly not a kid, but he probably isn't good enough to be our back up keeper who could be asked to play 30 games if the worst were to happen.

we do love a centre back

you would think given that we haven't scored more than 50 goals in a season since 2018/2019 that we would prioritise a different area

our average amount of goals scored in the last three seasons is 38 which is 1 goal per game

bizarre thought but maybe goals win games and keep you away from the relegation zone?
Great point this. Every team above us has already scored 50+ goals this season whilst we’re having a ‘good season’ on 41!
Realistically we need to find another 20 goals to be competing for a European spot in the next few years so goals has to be a priority.
Ndiaye and Beto have shown they can chip in, McNeil also, but we need more from the right side and centre midfield as a bare minimum. Alcaraz (so far), Garner and Ghana don’t offer goals, nor do our full backs. Our centre backs are fairly decent on this front but we do need players who offer more of a goal threat from other positions across the pitch.
A goal scoring midfielder and wide right attacker with goals would make a huge difference.
