Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I think Moyes had a net spend of precisely nothing in 12 years. In which he improved the average league position from the previous 12 years by about 7 places.

And someone has concluded he was poor in the transfer market? It’s possibly the wildest take this side of the angry

Seems like the Souček links just aren’t going away… I’m not too opposed as I think he’s an upgrade on most of our midfield and has a goal in him so think he’d be a good signing at the right price. The trouble is WHU will likely want £20m+ and he’ll ask for at least £100k p/w, we’ve got to move away from those kinds of deals to progress.
That’s not happening under TFG

Cherki at Lyon has been excellent tonight I know a few posters have mentioned him in the past he may be out of reach after his performance

Net -€384 million on player transactions over the past 4 years, it's going to take more than an Isak sale to loosen purse strings.

But you seem to have forgotten the original point which is Newcastle are not model we should be following - by your logic to 'loosen purse strings' they need to sell their most valuable asset
Newcastles revenue in the latest accounts was £320.3m which has more than doubled from their £152.6m turnover in 2020, you`d expect that to rise again in the 2025 accounts with the APT ruling... I think we will have more to spend than our fans seem to think. The increase in season tickets, hospitality plus the new sponsorship i.e. stadium naming rights, shirt sponsors etc should see us push through the £200m revenue barrier for the 1st time in our history.

Newcastle did stagnate for a bit while they grew their revenues but it is increasing each year, I suspect their revenues to be bigger than the £320m posted last season with getting Champions League football again. They`ve grown organically albeit there is plenty of cash in reserve and I think they can be held up as an example of how Everton should go about it.

Been banging on about Cherki for a while now, a wonderful talent. Can make a football do anything he likes, destined for great things he is that good. Sadly not at Everton.

As have I, the player who can elevate a team.

The part weve lacked is having the money to put down in a lump to entice teams to sell top players.

Hopefully now we can target these types. Though if Moyes is (God forbid) given control of transfers, I dont think he's ever signed a player from overseas for 'large' amounts.

We'd be more likely to sign a Fellows type than a Cherki I suspect :(

What nonsense. Signed Fellaini for big money for Everton. Likewise Signed Paqueta and Scamacca for West Ham

Yes agree completely Zat, but he can move for supposedly £18 due to some sort of clause. A bargain that would transform are attacking threat. If people think Illy is good ( and I do ) this kid is off the scale, a generational talent.
