Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Um, was unaware of him but now convinced he should be the #1 target. 22, and put up 11 in 16 in the Bundesliga and 12 in 12 in Ligue 1? Insane. Tied for 7th in Ligue 1 in goals and in HALF the matches everyone else played.

….and me. His last 2 transfers are reported to have cost £4m & €13m, it just shows you don’t have to pay fortunes and there are players like this out there.

zat thinks he’s a football scout.
I dont think hes ever watched these boys play to be honest Matty.

He will claim he watches 2nd league Danish matches, but nobody watches 2nd league Danish matches.

He, like most of us, sees the names linked, looks at the stats and then watches a vid or 2 and maybe reads a scouting report.

I watched all of Wolfsburg's games back in the day when I scouted Edin Dzeko, same for Sporting with Moutinho, but we have wall to wall scouting reports now, you can watch highlight vids on YouTube, in 2025, we are all football scouts.

Theres a boy somewhere,8 years old, keeping his head down, playing his football, maybe a bit of fortnite and in 20 years he will be the best in the world, its every football clubs job in the world to make sure that boy plays for you, roll the dice, you have a 1 in 2 billion chance of finding him.

Linked by foot mercato, plays LB and LCB

“He’s a player who works a lot, having made very good and quick progress. At the beginning of this season, I did not think he would be one of the most used players,” said his manager to Ligue 1 website.

“His qualities, playing with a lot of dynamism and speed, have allowed him to develop fully in this system. He asks a lot of questions about the game and what he needs to do to move forward.”

I think a lot, like myself, used to look at West Ham and think Bowen, Paqueta, Kudus etc. Good team, well recruited.

But then you listen to their fans (why did so many seem to have an issue with Moyes?), and scratch beyond a few decent attacking players, look deeper and it's what you say - a hell of a lot of waste there.

Honestly they have 2 players I'd be happy to pay what they did to sign now and that's Bowen and Kudus. But even Kudus, I like him but £45m or whatever it was is a lot, and he's scored 3 goals this season. He can be a bit of a luxury player.
allardyce may 2011 - june 2015
bilic june 2015 - nov 2017
Moyes nov 2017 - may 2018
pellegrini may 2018 - dec 2019
Moyes dec 2019 - may 2024
lopetegui may 2024 - jan 2025
potter jan 2025 - present.

From June 2015 to June 2025 that's 6 managers in 10 years, with Moyes covering just over 5 years of it in total. They've been run badly and he's still won em a cup. It's a bit rough overlooking how hated to the point of in stadium attacks on gold and sullivan were, how the support weren't overly happy leaving upton park, and getting worked over by a few agents with duff signings worth very little. We've had meddling and bad signings in bad faith and worse, the highfalutin directerships of sport, football overseers, future planners, cosmic raygun builders, and all the rest of em.

Give him the money for a striker and lets see how he does.

Just worry with deals like this that acon is next season so would have maybe gana and ndiaye out for a few games

I love Lamine Camara & they have the 2 brazilian full backs, Vanderson & Henrique.

As you say, the size of Biereth and the shoot on sight approach makes it seem odd he never had a chance at Arsenal.
Quite a few decent young players in that Monaco side that would be worth looking at. Camara, Ben Seghir, Akliouche and Ilenikhena all good when I've watched them in the champs this season.

They could do that of course but they don't want to sell any of those players.

It's no secret that they've been hampered by PSR in the last couple of windows, they've not been able to keep building their squad to be big enough to cope with European football. Easy to forget now due to the excellent season they've ended up having, but wasn't that long ago it looked like the wheels were starting to fall off a bit there. They bet big with their spending and if it didn't work out they would have been royally screwed.

We would be lucky to have a run in the transfer window like Newcastle have had, but we're going to have to be a lot more frugal with how we spend our money imo.
It's crazy that they might have to sell due to psr while the likes of Man Utd and Chelsea throw what seems like almost unlimited amounts on wages and transfers with zero repercussions with psr
