Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I could link you another 100 stories saying the same thing.
There’s a young English striker available for 30 mi who’s just hit double figures in prem, Everton need a striker, if you don’t think Everton are interested, fair enough, but I guarantee they will be. Getting him is a different matter altogether

Give him a 2m bonus for signing (or some agreed fee) and guarantee he’ll,be sold? Everyone’s,a winner!

….i’d imagine his financial demands are well known by those wanting to sign him and I’d expect he wants significantly more than £2m signing fee, in addition to the 10% of £30m he’s automatically entitled to.

He’s probably after circa £8m + his £3m % fee and £200k per week if the likes of Chelsea and United are involved.

I think we will show interest, I just feel like that currently people arent even mentioning our name in relation to him with any substance, thats all.

I dont think we will sign Delap, I see why people think we should and could, I just dont see it happening.

But I will try and resist telling people who we wont sign all summer, cos it will get really tiresome, for everyone.

Surely the player has already agreed to the terms of a buy-back clause at the time the buy-back clause was agreed? I doubt you have club’s negotiating buy-back clauses just for the player to turn around and say “No, don’t want to”.

The player will always have the right to turn it down if they want to, it would be illegal to force a player to enter into a contract with a club they don't wish to play for.

I'm hoping we will look a much more attractive proposition for incoming signings with Moyes at the helm and the lure of a fantastic brand new arena, the new owners will also be looking to stamp their identity on the club, fingers crossed for a good window which will allow us to feel positive about the future 🤞🙏💙

Agreed. But that’s why I think the player has already voluntarily agreed terms at the time the buy-back clause was negotiated. It’s not a buy-back clause if the clause is dependent on the future agreement of the player.

Perhaps the term ‘option’ has been used, which would then require the player’s future say-so. But if it’s a buy-back clause, the player has already agreed terms imo.

Unlikely.

Remember when Vardy turned Arsenal down who were willing to pay his release clause?

Also, the Suarez thing years ago with Arsenal when they offered 40m plus a quid, but I dont think that was ever a release clause, who knows.

But I think we need to realise that not every contract will say the same thing.
