Who did most of his goals come for, though? He was on form during the later Fulham days until he pushed a ref. Silva really got a tune out of him, ironically!

Ideally, we'd be signing the hot young prospect striker. But that will be expensive and we need a lot of additions all over the park just to stand still. Just saying when so much work is needed on the squad, there could well be value to an experienced player to come in alongside a bunch of new faces, especially if we could do so on the cheap or on loan.

If Mitrovic has had his Saudi payday and is willing to day a massive pay cut for a return to the Prem then it's a very sensible signing. If he wants mad money then obvs he can sniff it.

I think it’s precisely because we need so many players that we shouldn’t be spending £40m on this 31 year old pudding mate.

God we are 2 days into this window and we are falling for the Talksport's need to have 24/7 BS content.

I personally wouldn't sign anyone from Saudi.

Going there is literally raising the white flag on your career as a top level pro.

Yeah you make a mint but it's qn admission your hunger for the game isn't there.
