Yet if his underlying numbers were that good we wouldn’t be signing him, plus he does have decent numbers in chance creation and off the ball movement

Why wouldn't he? Also his chance creation is not good. Its about on par with James Garner in an easier league.

Theyve got to have seen something with their eyes they *really* like to have tried to sign him in 3 different windows under 2 different managers and 2 heads of recruitment/DoFs. His injury record and data don't paint a pretty picture. It's got me fascinated as to what the plan is.
