Neither are what we need.

If we are playing a 433 this season then I'm not against the idea of a number 8 who can chip in with goals, but Soucek is 100% not the one I'd choose, but if we play that system we lay bare the weakness that is the lack of a number 6. Gana and Garner aren't specialist holding players.

Instantly one of the first names on the teamsheet. 28 now so 5 solid years of him to drive the team up the league.

Another, like Grealish where young players can benefit from playing with him.

Aside from being a top class playmaker, his pressing is next level.

suffering with Gout sorry to anyone offended by my views on Soucek

Mr Joey66 - go to your local herb or holland and barrett shop. Buy either celery seed tablets, or cherry and turmeric tablets. Take two per day, it will ease and stop your gout. Meaning the toxic carp your doc is peddling will.not be needed. I get terrible gout, dont even drink! But i take 2 of eithet of the above a day, and over the last 3 yrs not had an attack.

So we need to address those positions as well as sign a Defensive Midfielder too.

I don't think the powder is dry yet so I'd expect another 20-30m being spent but we have the loan and free transfer market to look at.

I wouldn't put it past some clubs looking at Beto or McNeil also because for the right price we could very well sell them for a decent fee also.

If someone like Paqueta arrived I'd honestly be starting to think what manager are they gonna bring in next summer as - weird as he did buy him at West ham initially, but the makeup of the squad will feel very un Moyes like -

Don't think dibling will start immediately and paqueta would be a huge upgrade as an attacking option.

Paqueta pre ban was an amazing player, not sure he's looked the same level or close since returning though.

But with a squad with clear needs - massive ones at both RB and DM, buying another attacking mid just seems like someone playing footy manager...

Paqueta has a lot of talent but he drifts in and out of games far too often for me.
