Managers often bring in a favourite from a former team - ostensibly because they trust them, more often than not to give them a guy inside the dressing room as well.

Martinez brought in Kone and Alcarez.

Moyes at United brought in Fellaini as his big summer signing - a side that had been used to Cantona, Keane and Carrick.

Soucek gives him that big physical lump Moyes loves - and using him will be his default over better players or looking to get a better player.

Signing Soucek brings the overall rating of the window down imo. Not the type of midfielder we require and being brought in for his fabled ‘Premier League experience’, getting him just seems completely at odds with our window so far and TFG’s overall strategy.
