Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I meant specifically for the RW position and alternatives we seem to have been interested in. Since the Fofana links it has only been players that have played in the PL
Seems an odd perception to hold, the venn diagram of, RW, PL, young enough to be adaptable, within budget*, etc...

Seems Moyes wants a bit of quality and is prepared to fight for it. If it means the transfer goes closer to the window finish then so be it.

Nothing anyone says on here is helpful or is going to rectify anything. The cringe positivity and blind faith isn’t going to help anything or make our recruitment team any more competent either.

Akliouche - £60m
Amad Diallo - Not for sale
Oscar Bobb - ditto
Edon Zhegrova off to Marseille
Yeremy Pino - Villarreal no need to sell after Barry & Baena outgoings
Matias Soule - Roma won’t sell
Kang-in Lee huge wages & probably zero interest
Yaser Asprilla - only joined last season - but a maybe
See above some mad Football Manager scouting here 😂

I agree - this does feel so reminiscent of the previous Moyes era where we started too many seasons without the right players at the right time. Whether that’s Moyes himself or circumstances is a different question but there’s correlation and he’s the person at the top of the recruitment team.
The Window’s not over yet, and yes we are ill prepared for the season. We may still get decent additions in albeit late, but at the end of the day it is only one window, we just have to hope that the powers that be will have learned their lesson for future windows.

Its not Mike's fault.

I was like Mike, you care a lot, it grinds you down, its so easy, just buy players.

But then something happens, you step back, Everton is no longer consuming your life and as you say, its just 22 lads playing footy.

Its not that deep.

But you can't teach people this, they have to learn it.

Took me till about half through the earky noughties, think it was in the aftermath of a 4 nil televised drubbing away to West Brom (a game in which Suoer Kev's legs had definitely gone by that stage) and I was in a mood for several days. Penny dropped then, you can't let it control your emotions too much as you will get nothing back in return in reality. Everyone reacts and is affected differently though, there is no right or wrong just thoughts and feeling.

Debate is still healthy all the same as long as it is done in a respectful way.😃

KDH is not better than Alcaraz either on the transition or as a 10. He is better as a left sided 8 where Gana plays.

I think people have gone massively overboard on KDH in the 10 position in one match. Im not sure why.

He needs to play deeper as he is best with people ahead of him.
I know he's played him a bit further forward than Garner in the last 2 friendlies but Gueye did just win our player of the season playing as our deepest midfielder
Alcaraz hasn't really done anything exceptional yet to earn a start, and especially now since we have both Grealish and Ndiaye whose best two positions are both left wing or number 10... doesn't really leave any room for poor Carlitos who can really only play in number 10 role.

Dewsbury-Hall is more or less guaranteed to start every time he is fit, deffo. Much more rounded player than Alcaraz and better in virtually all aspects of the game.

I think Alcaraz would be a liability played deeper or shifted to the wing.

He's still young, can develop more and will anyhow get plenty of games this season as we always love picking up serious injuries early into the season which keep key players out for months.
Think a little harsh on Alcaraz, been poor in pre season but he's got a goal or an assist in each of his last 3 starts in the Prem and was class in that last match against Newcastle

I like Mike I think he's a good poster overall and I get why he's perturbed , initially I'm sure venting your frustrations is cathartic but the incessant outrage has to wear ya down too. I think there's a middle ground where you can be displeased with the lack of business without being like this transfer window will live in infamy! type statements

Mike is great, as I say, its not Mike, its this Everton, it grinds you down and consumes you and in the end theres just a shell where all your hopes and dreams used to live.

I wont ever take away peoples hopes and dreams, if they wanna dream of a better Everton, then I wish them well.

I think this is the thing, the ownership group may be keeping a slight from afar watch. They provide the funds but the recruitmemt decide and present their strategy. As US Businessmen they will hsve no qualms at all , if a strategy has been offered by the recruitment team and they fail in due course to come up with the goods, then those employees will be relieved of their duties.

Granted this doesn't eithee appease the fans or shout potential success on the field, but they will highly likely be held accountable.

We will not have the water treading of the BK era, it will simply not be tolerated by the money men I feel. They'll want enough higher calibre players in the this and next few windows through the door, with decent sell on profit. They will not be wanting to pump money in with virtually no sales income for too long.
