Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

What about Armstrong? Also, I think we should send Chermiti out on loan
But the rest are not good enough if we ever expect to win another trophy ever again
Why are we even thinking about extending contracts for players who are either past it or not good enough
We need to be positive and not just accept bang average. We've had to before but surely BMD etc and the tedium we have had to put up with for so many years should be reason enough to try and be positive exciting and winning for a bloody change

Delap is going to Man. United I think.

New CF will be someone from abroad as so many of the domestic options will be too expensive and not that good. Would keep Beto as back up and release DCL and obviously Broja and then get a younger forward from championship as third choice and see what this is like up to next January.

You look at Wolves picking up Strand Larsen on a season long loan and they'll sign him for 18m from Celta Vigo. Scored 13 prem goals this season.

Thierno Barry at Villareal is 22 and hit double figures in his first season in La Liga so he's someone I'd be scouting.

Tbf we’d be a good fit for him. He doesn’t want to move house and not playing champions league would reduce his workload giving him a better chance of avoiding injury.

His comments when coming back from the long term injury that he enjoyed doing school runs etc. I’m sure DM could sell that through.

" Alright Kev how bout taking a 75% pay cut? you'll still be able to bring the kids to school ya know"

Not sure, they’re looking at Cunha aren’t they.

Granted he’s playing for a very poor team, but not totally convinced on Delap personally. Have watched him a handful of times when Ipswich have been on Sky.
I reckon his agent is playing a blinder by suggesting United and Chelsea are in for him. Though their recruitment has been as bad as ours in recent years.

A lot is made of the number of players out of contract and conflating that with the number who need replacing. The 13 players includes Virginia, Begovic, Keane, Mangala, Lindstrom, Broja, Young, Coleman, Harrison. If these all leave it will have zero impact- apart from maybe a new backup GK needed and some bench options.

Of the others, there’s Calvert-Lewin, Gana, Alcaraz, Doucoure who whilst we can debate the merits of them all staying or going, have largely been involved in most games this season.

I’m cautiously optimistic about this summer. Getting rid of some overpaid garbage and the chance to bring in some better players. Really need recruitment to be better than the track record of the Moshiri era.

He still wouldn't cost a huge amount, Jackson went to Chelsea for only 32m. AC MIlan signed Chukuweze for 20m so Villareal don't sell at Brighton prices.

Just watching the EFL highlights and Fellows looks a good finisher with awareness to get space. Dosen't look like he has much pace though.

Not in every case, but pace in the Prem is a huge plus. Spending 30 million for a striker is a lot for us. Rather than 30 million for one we should be looking for three for around 10 each. We seem to turn our nose up at young strikers scoring in Belgium,France, Switzerland etc. Time maybe to rethink our scouting.
