The best thing about recruitment this summer is we are bringing in players that are capable of ball carrying, and using the ball on the ground. It's going to be very weird seeing an Everton side that has quality on the ball in multiple areas of the pitch rather than Dyche style hoofball.

Does feel a bit gutting to see Spurs potentially get Savinho (!!) for 50m within a week of losing Son after we've scrapped around all summer for nothing. Hope to god that in a couple years we'll be a much more attractive prospect to players and the last era will be in the past

If you’d said after Newcastle we’d extend Branthwaite on a new deal and then sign:

Grealish, Dewsbury Hall, Thierno Barry, Alcaraz, Aznou, Travers

All before the first game of the season.

Most of us would have taken that surely.

I get what you are saying. Although nobody had heard of Aznou, Travers is a bog standard reserve keeper, Barry is not hugely overwhelming either. I like KDH but there were loud groans if anyone mentioned him in June (I know as I did).

Grealish is exciting, but we are still 2 or 3 first team players short of a decent window at the minute.

To be fair, this was whay moyes built first time round...

took a hard working limited side and converted it into a hard working grafter side with some quality ballers on top, baines,arteta, pienaar, mirallas, Fellaini , haha, yakubu etc
