We love a Norwich RB obsession.

Everyone remembers yeah that Baines and Coleman were once young unproven fullbacks who weren’t ready to go into the first team and in Coleman’s case looked about 15 when he joined. Both turned into PFA team of the year full backs and Everton captains. Not every signing has to be ‘ready’ on paper. Very few are. Even players at City can take a while to adapt to the PL and they’re players who they’ve paid a fortune for from CL teams.

Sainz and Sargeant got all the plaudits from them last year but ask their fans and this lad was there stand out player.

Watched him a few times and he's decent, big step up to PL though

They’ve had since the end of May to find a RB and a RW, it’s a real failure to not be ready for the opening fixture.

Pretty clear we still need probably 4 or 5 players. Need to sort the right side positions ASAP. Can't have long negotiations for players, need to see results at this point of the summer.

I think running with O Brien as first choice RB was always the plan for this year. I just couldn’t see Moyes breaking up Branthwaite and Tarkowski and also couldn’t see him leaving out OBrien. I think he’s looking for a development right back to bring through over time, which would fit the mould of the lad from Norwich. Perhaps Justin comes in as utility cover on both sides, even more now with Myko’s injury.

Fans were absolutely chuffed with the last one for a long time. Even after it was painfully obvious he wasn't up to it plenty still wanted to keep hold of him.
