Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Even Newcastle and Crystal Palace are struggling to land their targets it's just a rough window unless you have absurd amounts of money to throw around. I still think we land the needed targets but it shows we're not only club struggling to navigate to market quickly
Yes but not just money it seems.... Outdated success and reputation seems to count for a lot too. Cough, cough man ure.
Premier League global vision.

Seems to be people starting to downplay how much we need to improve the squad. Making excuses, ‘it’s a tough window’.

Such an easily satisfied fanbase.
I really wonder what u expected? World class signings to match the stadium? Within 1 season jumping from a relegation prospect to part of the big 6? Surely u see it's a project that will take time? Yes, the lack of a RW signing so far is very disappointing but it will happen. I'm at ease with the slow, steady progress made so far. My living memory of Everton starts in the mid- late 80s (I'm about to turn 47) so maybe I'm just used to the roller coaster that is EFC and my expectations are lower?
Ask yourself, are you more optimistic than u were 12 months ago? If the answer is yes then slap a smile on your grid, get down to BMD and hand over 7.05 british pounds for a pint of San Miguel!!!

We've already improved the squad though!

I really think some people ought to start changing their wording a bit..

Could we do with a RW still? absolutely yes and I'll be as disappointed as anyone if we dont bring one in before the window shuts.

Could we do with an additional central/defensive mid and fullback? also yes. Clear positions to backfill if only to improve our options/create a bit more competition in those areas.

Will we struggle massively this season if we do only one or even none of those things? No.. I really don't believe so. It'll be disappointing, sure.. but I refuse to catastrophise like some around here are because they believe we have a 'Championship level squad' or something when that just isn't the case. We done some very respectable business thus far and we should still very much be aiming to improve on last year's performances with this current squad and we'll, inevitably, be miles away from the bottom three regardless...

There’s some good medium to long term fixes made but we will be starting the new season weaker than the last
Explain your workings out here please mate.

Still short of a couple players to pad the squad, indeed.. but our best 14-15 or so players are an improvement over last season for sure.

Its easy to forget how dire the team really was at the start of last season, especially with Dyche not playing the new guys. Its much more competitive right now- A permanent winger and a few loans to round out the squad before the deadline and we will be fine.

Well we already had Alcaraz so no change there

Barry may or may or may not be an instant improvement on DCL but nobody can claim that he is yet

Aznou will take time to get into the team and if called upon might not be as reliable for awhile as Young was, good signing but it’s likely a medium term gain

Signing a reserve keeeper is not going to move us one inch up the table

That leaves KDH who I think will be an improvement on Doucs

There’s the loans we haven’t replaced Mangala, Harrison, Lindstrøm and Broja, should be able to improve on that but as yet we have not.
