We've had an 18m bid for McGinn rejected?

Dafuq, he's 30 already, 31 in October, and on a downwards trajectory. Would be an awful signing at anything above even 10m imo.

No. The fake bid story is meant to either trigger a bid from Newcastle or force Villa to extend his contract.

We need to be more patient, we’re not signing players for the Leeds game, we’re signing them for the next 3-5 years - if they all come in on deadline day that’s fine by me.

Dibling would be quality, the more I’ve read I’d happily go to 50M - could be an England regular for the next ten years.

Once we get a RW in, a Strikers where I’m most concerned, Beto isn’t the answer and I suspect Barry is a couple of years away given his age and raid rise. I’d be interested if we could get DCL back

Dibling is the one, £50M might look like a steal in a couple of years and I can see him being an England international for the next ten years.

Once we’ve sorted right wing, CF is where I’m most concerned, Beto can’t be the answer and Barry will likely need a couple of years given his age, rapid ascent, and toughness of the PL. maybe a phone call back to DCL see if we can change his mind?

A week tomorrow we have to register our first squad of the Premier League season. We do not have a right winger at the football club.
An ominous bell rings. 16 year old Justin Clarke steps out of the shadows like the Undertaker.

Enough sentiment

I’d have him on loan if we got desperate. That’s not sentiment, he would be our best, and only, right winger and wouldn’t need any time to adapt. He could cover every position across the front and you know you’d get commitment and goals.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all actually if he was one of the ones we tried for late on loan. Moyes has got previous for those sort of moves.

Being desperate isn’t good though is it mate. Personally i would like us to move on from signings like this but if it was to happen I know loads would love it given how popular he still is with fans.
