Could literally say this about any player but there’s no world in which a 40 year old Ashley Young would be on Bayern Munich’s books and whilst Barry went for 30 million no one will even take DCL on a free. I doubt anyone would have even paid 30 mill for him this peak.

Mangala was a slow midfield plodder who was the definition of neat and tidy but nothing more. If KDH can run at even an average pace he’ll be more useful than Mangala was.

People are forgetting how poor some of these former players were. Injury prone, slow, inconsistent, really poor output. These new players would almost have to contribute virtually nothing to be worse than some of those they’ve replaced.

I liked Mangala and thought he did well here .
But the perception of his ability seems to have expanded exponentially since his departure.
He was good not exceptional.
Although I think Hall is also good as opposed to great , I think his particular skill set will be more beneficial to the team .

Would even say Dewsbury Hall over Mangala is a reach at this point. How many prem games has he played?

He's definitely better than Mangala. By a considerable distance.

He might well be but not seen anything to prove this for definite.
Similar amount of prem goals and Dewsbury Hall spent last season either on the bench or playing against simple farm hands.
