Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

We haven't one available right wide player in the squad

How can we wait to next year ??

We have the loan market still to utilise. I’m saying we don’t need *the* player and just keep moving down the list this year. If it’s not happening for the winger, make do with loans, buy quality elsewhere and wait until next year for the winger.

They were prepared to negotiate but it was said earlier in the summer they value him close to £100million. £50millon plus a 25% sell on fee would probably get them to about £65-70 million at least if he kicked on and we sold him for big dough.
He’s not being sold for 110m in the future.

I actually think we've put ourselves in a position where we have to pay it. It is a key position for us and we have nothing. We've played the window all wrong on this one, because I'm really not sure who is left we could go for who might come. After Dibling it would be the likes of Fellows and after him you are back into the Jack Harrison's of the world.

I think we've brought in good players and they did well to get Barry sewn up so quickly when every man and his dog wants a striker. But they have played this RW position all wrong in my opinion.

Definitely time to say " Here's our final offer of £35M + £5M add-ons. Our offer will be withdrawn in 24Hrs and we will not engage further after that".

If they buckle, then we've got a young lad with 'potential' for a reasonable price, and they've made £35M profit on a lad with very limited game time and real credentials.
If they don't then we move on and look elsewhere. In truth there's lots of feasible targets in that price range - we just need to scout better.

Ok now say we want £45M + £5m which is easily achievable in add-ons + 25% sell-on..

Absolutely can't be going down that road..... We paid 50 for Sigurdsson when nobody else wanted him.....

Nuts....

I'd like Dibling but not at the fee quoted. It's a take it or leave it offer now

I would walk away out of principle. Focus on other areas like RB and CM and wait until next season to buy a RW. Yes it’s a priority but we aren’t challenging next year. Or the year after. We have time.

We haven’t had a RW on any use in about 10 years so stop this nonsense now.
