Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Hard to say as think he had it would hd e been KWP playing behind last season. Obviously one who overlaps a lot unlike you'd imagine O'Brien will.

I'm talking one who is primarily more defensive to allow Dibling to just concentrate on getting us goals & assists and not track back constantly.

O'Brien does overlap a lot though; think you're misremembering there.

We seem to have linked to a serious of uninspiring right backs during this window .
Tete is probably the only one I would describe as decent .
Is there a worldwide shortage in this position, or are we just looking for back up rb as opposed to a starter ?
O’Brien plays RB. I don’t want crap player like Justin just to fill the number. If we buy a rb then has to be a starter.

Probably am tbh mate.

I'm fine with O'Brien being the starter but we do need another option there as I have zero confidence we won't have knocks at CB through the season and Keane is a walking disaster.

I wonder what type of money is still available for a RB if / when we get Dibling done. Barry (27m), KDH (25m+), Aznou (8m), Travers (4m). That will be 100+m if we get Dibling done.

Juanlu Sanchez would be good option for RB. Unfortunately It seems he going to Wolves for 15m. More of a wingback type and he has played as aright winger, too.

Especially if we still intend to sign Grealish as reports continue to infer.
I recall a figure of £150m available funds being widely mooted. If true we still a room to manoeuvre. ( I stress ‘if true ‘ )

If anyone at the club is factoring in Seamus as an option at right back for the season rather than essentially a coach with a playing number then they need to be fired.
We need a first-choice right back, Patterson as understudy and then Seamus being the final option; O'Brien can then be pushed inside as required.

If Tarkowski and Branthwaite are both fit, I can see O'Brien being pushed out to the right, leaving Patterson to cover.

If we can get Dewsbury -Hall and another decent central midfielder I'd be more confident in our ability to stay away from the bottom 3. I'd rather have had McAtee because he can unlock defences whereas KDH iis your standard run around a lot midfielder, but we don't currently have many of those either.

I think he might surprise you. He’s not a dribbler (but neither is McAtee) but his weight of pass and vision appear to be very underrated. I see him and N’Diaye working very well on the left hand side of our attack

Patterson needs to move on at this point. We need a first choice, and then we manage this season with O’Brien, Coleman and garner as different options to go there if first choice got injured.

Main issue would be an injury to both a new RB and either Tarks or Branthwaite.

If, if, these two deals come off, the squad looks a lot nicer. Still 2-4 more signings required after that for me - I'm a realist here, not delusional like some of you.

(Don't fixate too much on KDH behind Garner etc. I'm just showing squad depth)

The club doesn't see right back as pressing because of Jake and they are looking for a backup which is reasonable.

We are more desperate in midfield and on the wings so i am relatively happy with our approach considering we don't havr infinite funds.
