£40m should be a player of finished article quality. On largely potential. We need the finished article to walk into our starting 11 to improve our team, for that type of outlay.

Listen I’m not saying the lad isn’t talented, but it’s a risk spending 45m on a young lad from a relegated team. The pressure and expectation on him to perform here would be immense for such a young lad.No risk at all and he'll be a first teamer in no time after a bedding in period which managers like to do with new signings. Ditto Barry and Aznou
Gordon had far more PL exp at the time. The Dibling fee just feels standard now for an English prospect with PL experience.
We sold Gordon for £40-45m
Ever heard of inflation?£40m should be a player of finished article quality.
Must say, if we add £60-70m to this on KDH and Dibling we are 100% having to sell Branthwaite next Summer

Is right. But we can only sign players who want to come and seems like Dibling does and we have to pay the premium.Bakayoko (gone for €18m), Conceição (gone for €32m). I know they rejected us.
You can only find value for money from aboard. The English league market is crazy.

From where we were 12 months ago and having to shop with Klarna, nobody can say the new owners haven’t backed the manager if these two deals get completed. Around 130m outlay can’t be criticised really for their first Summer window.
