Honestly I think most people will hate this but it’s true …
Ah. Well let’s say you’re going on a date, you really want to shag her, and she didn’t give you the go ahead to book until 6pm because of PSR (Procrastinating, Shitting and [getting] Ready]. Most places booked. Now what do you do? There’s a booking open at a restaurant but it’s super fancy and four times more expensive than you want to pay and the waiters have a bad attitude. Or you can get a reservation at Crappies Crap Shack. They have open seating but it’s utterly [Poor language removed]. Rest are booked up until 10pm.
That’s the unfortunate reality. Players who might be able to get CL will wait and see. Deals like Grealish they always said would be late window.
What you want is magic. We couldn’t book until late but we should be able to get any booking we want sorted immediately. Doesn’t work like that.
Reality is without a bunch of dodgy “shouldn’t be allowed” deals like selling the women’s team etc we won’t have enough money to act quickly in these windows ever. Not new information. They have to embezzle money in or we will always be too slow.
If they aren’t cooking the books our windows will be cooked. That sort of thing. It’s like being a fan of mafias. It’s not about Moyes dithering; it’s about the owners doing the accounting shenanigans required these days to be able to spend.
Also. This is exactly what it used to be like with Moyes. He knows one wrong signing (assuming it’s a 30-40m big one) and he’s done. We can’t miss on that much money. So he waits.
