Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Here's hoping there is an avalanche of new signings over the next fortnight.
I’m sure there will although I certainly expected a lot more activity this week .

It feels like we’ve multiple balls in the air but I just don’t know if that’s wishful thinking on my behalf . Given the comparison of my expectations versus reality it might very well be wishful thinking .

This transfer window at the moment is disappointing, i certainly suspect that the changes in structure are at least partially to blame . Especially as some of appointees are unable to become active until later in the season.
But I hope the club does not panic and begin settling for sub standard players . The transfer window has another month yet.
In Moyes we have a solid , dependable coach who is effective at getting teams to perform at the top of their valuation/ expectation envelope. Occasionally he can get a team to finish one or two places above this envelope, less often they can also drop out of it .
It follows , therefore, that if we want to see material improvement in our finishing position, we need to recruit higher quality players than we have or certainly than those we have allowed to leave .
Moyes is not a manger who adds value to a poor team .
The club has to hold its nerve and not panic and lower it’s ambitions.

Can't buy players on a Sunday and tomorrow is a Bank Holiday in Ireland so they can't sign then either. Day off Tuesday after the American trip so back to work Wednesday.
Wednesday is a public holiday in the Ivory Coast so I'm sure the club will want to respect that by holding off transfers then. Meantime, Thursday is the King of Bolivia's birthday, so unlikely to see any action there. Friday end of week and the weekend is the weekend—Hammond and Kinnear are planning to furnish their respective new mansions then, so clearly no time for transfer negotiations then either.

We're approaching Alan Myers tweet territory.

Sometime early this week we'll see this feller start his serious spinning exercises; dropping stuff about "extraordinarily difficult marketplace", "need to wait for things to fall into place with other clubs higher up the food chain", and "the club hope to get some late deals done in the final week".

And some of our fans will indulge him by pathetically asking: "Al, what''s your gut? Four or less players in?", or "What's the odds on Grealish agreeing a deal, Al?"

This is an outrageously bad position to be in after all the talk of "unprecedented summers".

I don’t think the window has been a complete disaster, but I would be feeling a lot more optimistic about the coming season if we had addressed the CM and RW sized holes in the squad.

I am quite familiar with Leeds as one of my best mates is a fan. So many similarities between us this year and them last summer. Their fans were not confident at the start of the season but kept hearing ‘judge us at the end of window’ by Kinnear.

Think we will come good in August, but probably not as soon as we would like.
