Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I dont think the club has positioned itself properly which is frustrating as despite all the realities, I would still maintain that we are an attractive proposition overall. Not to a certain profile of player, but to others.

I don't really understand at all how we seemingly can't attract players that would improve us over a 2-3 year spell, surely that should be the immediate aim. Perhaps Moyes thought with the right signings he could have us on the coat-tails of the Top 5, but that works only if you get the players in.

There seems to be an idea now that if we can't get a certain player, then the only alternative is some average tat when this simply should not need to be the case.

At all levels it points to a lack of preparation and disagreement within the recruitment team. It's so disappointing.
I think signing up for this bs US pre season has been a spectacular failure too...not sure if the new owners wanted to show off their new club and work on building name recognition in the US market but I think its likely had the opposite effect...the majority of the coverage has shown how threadbare the squad is and soundbytes of Moyes moaning about lack of signings. I just hope we look pretty decent in the next couple of games...outside of the first half against Bournmouth, we have looked AWFUL

Napoli paused the deal in order to finish all first team signings beforehand apparently. The lad will go there as the backup right back.

As an aside, almost certain we have been linked with him before in January

Who knows, if by Friday we've got Sanchez & Dibling signed I think we'll all be extremely positive with a new right hand side.

We'd still need a few more signed but for me i'd be confident.

If nothing again then...

Blimey. The 3 promoted teams being nowhere near the level required shows that the standard of the rest of the league is very good!

This a difficult concept for people?
I agree - proof of the standard is English teams domination of europa and conference league

It’s hard finding players that will improve your team. Palace, Newcastle and Forest are struggling to sign players also.

If we ended up going into this season with both Aznou and Sanchez on the books as fullbacks - I'd lay good money that the plan would be to replace Moyes next summer as they are both very attacking fullbacks well suited to the wingback role.

Longer the window goes the more I'm certain we are recruiting to a 2-4 year plan.

I remain Unconcerned.

Would be nice to have a load of decent players in by now, but there’s very little movement for anyone we will be competing with yet.

I expect 6th - 10th next season, and I expect to have a squad capable of that by the time the window closes 🤷🏻‍♂️

Season after / Jan window I expect better.
6TH TO 10TH???? Yes it is preseason but in terms of actually playing football ( passing the ball to each other), we just got schooled by Bournmouth and to a lesser extent West Ham... who are these 10 to 14 teams that are potentially worse than us right now?:))

That must mean that we’re very good as well then because we’ve finished mid table the last two seasons.

We'll be able to speculate more if players come in
