Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Yeah, I'm not saying it's impossible but I am saying that you don't typically go and spend massive money on someone and then get them to play out of position.
But we’re not talking about buying someone with 100s of professional appearances. Frankly he doesn’t have a lot more experience than Dibling.

Agreed but Moyes’ best teams also didn’t win anything and couldn’t win at the top teams. City have enough pace when they’re on it, Haaland, Foden Rodri Doku etc. they can all shift.

We’re far too one paced. The top teams just don’t buy many slow players unless they’re technically unbelievable.
Dibling has genuine pace mate

Ah, so we waitied 6 eweeeks for this bid despite moyes protesations??
Maybe. Perhaps our position has changed as a result of the sale of the women's team. Maybe we have had other RW targets that haven't materialised. Maybe as the window is progressing and peolles options are reducing, we've been told we might be considered.

Let’s hope so, the cumulative pace of the team needs to increase. We stop being on the back foot against top sides by being able to compete for the space against them. When you cede being first to the loose balls you start shuffling back which gives us those sitting deep/can’t get out performances we see so often in derbies and away at top teams.

Dibling looks like he can play either flank or through the middle, Ndiaye is the same, McNeil can play left or 10 but not right, Alcaraz can play 10 and deeper. If we can get in one more wide player after Dibling that would give us 5 players for the 3 positions behind the striker.

I fully expect movement with Mcatee soon, think we've moved to the players who've said yes rather than hanging on those umming and arring

They wanted 100 million a few months ago.

They were never getting 100m for him, it was a high valuation when they thought teams with loads of money would bite. Now they haven't, they will lower their demands, even more so if the player wants to move.

Is that not what this is?

“When you have eliminated all which is impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.”

They don’t know what they’re doing,
They don’t know what they’re doing.

That would be bizarre, given about 10% of his career appearances have been in that position.

It would be a very strange choice to spend loads of money on a player and then ask him to play in a position he barely ever plays.
I know right. Remember when Wenger bought Henry and played him up front. Or when Spurs bought that Welsh golfing left back and played him as a winger. What were they thinking?

If we sign Dibling we will have added 3 players all considerably faster than those they've replaced.

Aznou compared to young
Barry to DCL
Dibling to Harrison.
