Clearly, across football there appears to be blockage on movement. Everton alone can not force that open. If a team is a reluctant to sell, Everton can’t force them.

We need a transfer laxative.

I’m reaching here.. but.. before people start with the usual ‘who’s going to want to join us after watching that’ spiel I’d wager there will be plenty of players thinking they would be absolutely guaranteed starters in this team and that may actually be a decisive factor in them joining.. some players will prioritise minutes over money, especially the up and comers.

Think the days of players putting minutes before money are long gone unfortunately, just look at Chelsea and some of the crew gone to Saudi League. Its all about the Benjamin's now I'm afraid, for the vast majority anyway.

I’d probably go and get Ndidi at this point. We need some experience/physicality in midfield and we can’t just have our eggs in a basket that will smash on deadline day.

It’s concerning, just have to hopr it all falls in place. We all want the dream start to the season but we will forget this preseason in November.

I’ve forgotten it already, pre season is just about fitness. Tactics and formations get drilled on the training ground in great detail… honestly friendlies nowadays are just glorified marketing tools, like this one to tap into American wallets.

I really hope we get some players in asap, but it’s more important to get the right players in and even if it takes right until deadline day to get the best players in it will be worth it.

Of course we do actually need to get them…

I agree, except what is the point of spending many months chasing players who do not want to join us, and are only playing along to get a better deal somewhere else.

Our targets have to be realistic based on our current position. Where we are ahead of the other teams in a similar position to us, is we can outbid them for the players likely to come to us.

The problem this summer is we have been chasing players who have no intention of signing for us, while other teams at our level have been hoovering up all the players who would probably still go for us.

Our unrealistic optimism has lead us to where we are now. 15 days off the start of the season, a team that is worse than finished last season and nothing in the bench to give anyone any options.

But that’s fine mate, you just keep waiting for those young CL superstars with better options than us to see the light.

Really don’t see the point of panicking 3 weeks before the season starts, much more important things in life then stressing yourself out over not having enough players for pre season friendlies.
We will sign players it’s just taking longer then we all thought it would including the manager
