But that's my point. He can whip up the entire fan base by saying we're in advanced talks, whereas all other sources said they'd check on the validity of that interest.

It's not like he doesn't have a history of overestimating 'advanced' talks between Everton and players

“For the sake of it” surely means a signing that you don’t need but make anyway? Signing a new goalkeeper or centre back right now would be a signing for the sake of it. Outside of that, we basically need to strengthen every position on the pitch.

I would say for the sake of it means we can get him but hes not what we really want.

We do need to start getting a move on now though! If the waiting game pays off then great, if it doesnt then TFG will have started on the wrong foot and will have lost all confidence from us.

The player market is utterly bonkers these days. This is what we're having to deal with unfortunately..

And the more we wait, the high the price will be. It is a shamble of a recruitment team. People get sacked in the real world for less. Shocking that theyre making a good living, yet not doing their job.

RS only won league because of Salah, and relied on Gerrard for years. We've never recovered from losing Lukaku, our problem is that we need so many new players to fill in new positions.

Not one of us know what Plan A, B or C look like. It was said earlier by one of the ITKs that the CL players are waiting for space to become available in other squads before deciding. This is clearly why we haven't been signing players in a random way. We will be taking the crumbs from the top table unless we can attract a player with the ongoing project we have started.

Disappointing when there are point to play for before September but if that brings in a higher calibre of player then that's what's needed. Further strengthen again in January if any player who remains at their club doesn't get the playtime they've wanted.

Get the Daz out and give them sheets their best wash. Treat yourself to a Lenor tumble dryer sheet if that is your want and enjoy the rest of the day/week.

Im probably with you but I’m certainly becoming more frustrated as the days pass .

They had more than one great player - you need a very good team 11 players no passengers plus a bench that can change games now ...
