Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

None of you really know why we have been slow to sign players and singling out individuals to blame doesn't help.
In general outside the Sky 6 no one has made lots of signings that I've noticed. Nor did many in the January window.
PSR hitting home basically. There will be loads of last minute action, which as ever leaves us struggling at the start of the season. It's about time our current players stepped up and fought for their places especially knowing they could get replaced.

Not an excuse, none of them needed to bring in 8-10 players just to fill a match day squad. The people at our club knew our situation for the last 6 months. I won’t accept that as an excuse.

We’ve tried to sign certain players but sadly they are out of reach at the moment.

We need to take a reality check and look at other options before time runs out.

I’d rather not have an incomplete squad because we unsuccessfully chased the likes of Luiz, Kubo, Fofana, McAtee all summer.
I’d rather not just sign bums for the sake of it either.

We keep waiting on Forfana according to Romano. This has Fellows deal and Harrison loan end of August written all over. If we can get 1 high profile player it might be Grealish. He might want to stay in the area and in PL. Not sure though there is a PL club interested who can offer European football or buy him instead of a loan

There used to be value in the Championship now there isn’t.

Everton need to shop abroad and am happy that’s what we are looking to do, for every Bowen there’s a Tom Fellows
Why is Fellows getting such stick? He got loads of assists last season and noone knows how he'd do in the Premier League, yet everyone seems to ridicule him?

Also, I think Hackney at £15m would be decent value. And I reckon the likes of Ivanovic at Millwall and Van Ewijk at Coventry would also do well.

Can understand the problems the recruitment team are having. We want to sign quality players, we are and have been trying to do that, BUT, of course those quality players aren't going to be cheap and despite having funds to do so, we are in the same situation as Newcastle where we aren't able to just spend spend spend and have to be careful with how we do it. That then leaves you with the problem of trying to negotiate very stiffly for some of those players or moving on. Moving on can lead to another problem - you don't want to then sign players that you don't really want or think are top quality because you may end up needing to try and get rid of them rather than being happy to continue with them once those quality players become available.

It's annoying for us, for Moyes and for the recruitment team and there is no easy answer for what to do, but the pressure is well and truly ramping up on them and they need to decide quickly as to what they're going to do.

“It’s too hard” isn’t an excuse. If I’m consistently failing at my job I don’t get to go into the disciplinary meeting and say “it’s just too damn hard though 🥺

5 in please.
