Once Moyes rejoined Young hardly played as JOB took his spot and even Doucoure was being phased out by the end of the season. We kept a clean sheet against Newcastle without Tawks and Branthewaite. If Dyche was in charge you may have a point but he isn't. We have lost bodies, that is all. They are all easily replaceable with equivalents in very short order if that is all we are trying to achieve. We have signed 4 players on deadline in past seasons. The Hitchhikers Guide to the Transfer Window says DON'T PANIC.
I know we lost, what was it, 11 players (?), and we 100% need to replace most of those bodies, but when people were constructing their starting 11 from about mid March onwards, how many of the starting 11 did we actually lose?
Young wouldn't have been in most starting 11s, Doucoure in what, 50% at most (over Alcaraz)? DCL in maybe 50% (at most) over Beto?
The only big position worry (and still is) is that we lost both RM/RW options, but honestly I'd say most people's main gripe with the team last year was how poor our RM options were, and they were both loans. OK it's currently worse (lol), but you have to believe they will address this before the Roma game at the very latest.
Then it's a case of wither improving on what we have, or getting decent competition in as squad filler. I'll not start panicking until the Roma game tbh... then it's yellow stained sheets ahoy if nothing has happened by then.
