Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Mbeumo and Delap would be nice…I think adding two ‘proven’ attackers would transform us into top half. Moyes has shown we aren’t miles off - back 5 is solid, get another season out of gueye…an upgrade on garner maybe and an improvement on doucoure.

Few loans and a new centre back to replace Keane.

Sounds terrible. Why blow the whole budget. Why not make the signing of a player like that before they make it big rather than try to buy them after their fees have risen substantially. Good scouting is what is required

Terrible? Delap has a relegation clause, at worst you get your money back on him at his age.

Mbeumo is just someone I like, good age, proven in the prem - think he would add a lot to this side…might be out of our price range though.

Agree we should be investing in the future as well, but think this summer we have an opportunity to do both.

See Martin Samuel suggesting that if Delap’s agent has any sense, he’d punt him to a “stepping stone” club for two seasons where he’d get regular starts than a “premier” club where he’d get the occasional cup game as an understudy to the main striker.
WTF, I’ve never considered us as a stepping stone but …
Thing is, though, if we get things right, we could be both the stepping stone and the next stone along the path.

By now the club should have decided on first, second and third choices in each of the positions we need to strengthen in, alongside knowing exactly what the transfer budget will be and which of the targeted players are interested in joining. There is no excuse for not securing early signings.
Well there’s actually a very good excuse, we’re sailing very close to the PSR wind for this accounting period. It’s been done to death, but we can’t and won’t do any major business until after July 1st.

… The window will open early, between Sunday 1 June and Tuesday 10 June, due to an exceptional registration period relating to the FIFA Club World Cup. It will then reopen on Monday 16 June and close on Monday 1
