Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Of course, this is a football forum not a board meeting. Nothing that any of us say in here makes the slightest bit of difference to anything the club does, we all know that. Do you think you repeating that everyone is doing their best and we’re going to end up having a wonderful window with rainbows and unicorns everywhere will just make it happen, or are you for some reason assuming that you’re the only person in the world who’s realised they’re not actually responsible for Everton’s transfer dealings?
Not sure about rainbows and unicorns but I’m confident we will get a RW / RB and CM before the windows out.

New contract for Branthwaite, new striker, upgrade on back up keeper, Alcaraz sorted. Spent about £45m so far. Hardly sitting on their hands so I’m not getting stressed mate.

That’s about half of the business that we need to do. Exciting times!

Tbh i think kubo is probably our third choice RW option.

As apparently we were after bakayoko and activated conceicao's release clause. So it feels like we are moving down the list of right wingers.

With the likes of mcatee and luiz, i think people need to understand that these players have plenty of options. So if they're the players we want were going to have to wait fot them to decide where their going (hopefully us).

Id rather wait to get the right player in then end up with another maupay just because their available right now.
Pretty sure we signed maupay very late in the window so he’s probably not a great example to use.

I think everyone acknowledges that it would be better to sign good players late than bad players early. This isn’t really cutting insight, despite numerous people proclaiming it as if it is. The fairly obvious problem people have is that we’ve made a habit of getting late in the window but then not ending up with the good players we were supposedly waiting all summer for, and so people are fairly understandably concerned that the same might happen again.

Once Roma have completed their key business attention can be turned towards getting signings done at the secondary club Everton. That's what people joked and that's what is becoming a reality. Hit Moyes with a big no interview rule until it's too late and we're going into the season with McNeil playing RW
I would say it reflects more on the new team Friedkin have installed, Kinnear and all them other transfer and recruitment appointments.

What else do you think is essential Mike? LB cover / upgrade and maybe a 10? Beyond that, it’s about getting players in who are better than what we have for me, which will take time.

I think Armstrong will establish himself this year, seems to have progressed enough for that to be likely. Irobugnam will also kick on.

Moyes will talk when it suits him. He’s not some fresh faced young hipster manager desperate to get his face known. If he has something to say, good or bad, he will say it when he judges it to be appropriate.
Don’t forget he was the guy who labelled us as the peoples club mate, can’t have it both ways

I keep having to check that Roma are still on zero confirmed signings and yup, they still are.

Didn’t realise we shared the same CEO, manager and recruitment teams. This is an outrage

How is people being zen and not getting worked up over the window weird?
Not getting worked up over the window isn’t weird. I would guess very few people on here are actually worked up over the window, in terms of it affecting their day to day life. I’d like us to sign loads of good players but I can’t influence it either way and my life will go on regardless of whether it happens or not, I assume pretty much everybody else that you may think is a rabid lunatic because they’ve said they’d like us to have done more business has a very similar outlook. The attitude of some people of ‘I know i’m posting on a football forum transfer thread on a Sunday morning but I’m actually totally not bothered about transfers whatsoever everything is wonderful why can’t you be more like me?’ Is what’s weird.

We definitely need 2 central midfielders, 2 wingers, 1 right back and 1 left back as a bare minimum imo.
