Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

For me KWP is the kind of trap we've been falling into for years and I'm glad we've avoided it. You end up counting down the days until the contract expires.

I think he's a decent pick up due to his versatility at RB/LB which he's capable of doing as a backup for a club at our and West Ham's level which should be sniffing around those European spots, but if that 90k wage is true then it's well avoided.

I've felt like this all along about him. However, the deeper into the window we get without adequate fullback cover the more I'm in danger of talking myself into it being an ok idea.

Hopefully there's someone with more of a clue looking after our recruitment.

KWP was clearly way down the list, and he's reportedly been asking for 90+k a week which we just can't pay for a squad player. Frustrating as it looks like we've lost a player to a rival - but we really haven't.

I'm not for a minute saying KWP warrants it. However, we will all have to accept, if we want to get to where we want to be i.e. pushing CL on a fairly regular basis £90k a week is nothing. It's squad player chicken feed.

£40k a week squad player money will get us to where we were have been lower half, skirting relegation.

Pushing CL regularly 🤣🤣🤣

i completely agree - and like you say KWP doesn't warrant it. So if the new owners share the fans ambition they need to go find the players that do.

Funny how?

Unrealistic or not ambitious enough?

I'm happy to be pulled on the latter but not the former (although it will take time)

Bearing in mind I wasn't talking about next season.
Ambitious, not realistic. We've come close once. Playing field was more level then. We need to out do the mighty Brighton and Brentford in league places before we hit the Europa Conference place. KWP gets us to that zenith. What takes us higher comes after. In my opinion.
