….have to say, at this stage I’m quite chilled about the ins and outs.
The new regime appear to have clear and strict criteria regarding the offer of new contracts to existing players, they won’t be held to ransom which is welcome. Gueye was important to get over the line, Keane was pragmatic and
Branthwaite’s new deal most welcome.
The acquisition of Barry immediately makes us a stronger attacking force than last season. Defensively, if everybody is fit we’re as strong as last season, we’ll be better than last time with an effective RB coming in.
Harrison and Lindstrom exchanged places throughout the season, neither pulling up trees. McNeil was injured for a large part, his availability makes us stronger but if we bring an effective winger we’ll be even better. The one area I have a slight concern about is losing Doucoure’s energy in that hybrid no 10 role.
So, I already think we’re at least slightly better than last season but I’m sure we’ll get 3 quality individuals in (RB, CM & winger) to properly push us on as well as utilising the loan system to bolster the squad with a few more.
I’m certain there’s lots going on behind the scenes.
