Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

haven't seen us linked to this lad in a while, Florentino Luis at Benfica, Defensive Midfielder, 25, linked to teams in Italy in the past, also linked to Burnley!

It is believed Benfica want around 30m euros for the lad, seems to be in a similar price bracket to Douglas Luiz and Connor Gallagher

Nowhere did I say it's impressive, did I? I said trust the process, the signing of contracts of which are perhaps the first stage. Maybe they had CB targets and DM targets had the Branthwaite and Gueye decisions not gone in the same manner? Maybe the people we've got in now view contacts as being the first stage? We'll probably never know for but it's just how I'm reading the room.

Oh look, Boyland just broke the Barry news. We've started, I guess? 🤔
And I didn’t say you did say it was impressive did I? As I said, I think just expecting people to blindly ‘trust the process’ is a bit mad after all the times the processes haven’t worked.

Nobody really thinks we’re going to go all summer without bringing anyone in, they’re just hoping to see signs of a new improved set up, and unfortunately so far those signs have been thin on the ground. Hopefully things start to get moving soon, because there really is a lot that needs doing.

Good player, McGinn but christ he's unlikeable. .

Links to Luiz [much preferred] and McGinn encourage me that we are looking for that profile of midfielder: happy to put a foot in, quick in the transition, decent goal return, good at set plays.

The only players in our squad above 30 is Pickford, Keane, Tarky, Coleman and Gana. I think adding players in their mid 20s of the quality of Luiz and young potential like Thierno Barry should be the way we go to build on this fairly young base.

Signing 30 year olds like McGinn and Harrison I would be against, now is the big reset, don`t F it up Everton!

The only minor issue with Mcatee is pace. He travels with the ball lurvely but is similar to N'diaye in that he's not that rapid, which won't help us considering Moyes predominantly wants to play on the counter.

This would be remedied by having quick full backs. But not seeing us linked with much of that profile.

Now him as our ten and also signing a quick right winger. Then your REALLY cooking

Right Winger - who do we all want?

Based on who we've been linked with I've listed them in order of preference

Bakayoko
Kubo
Hutchinson
Doak
Fellows
Harrison (lol)

I'll be brutally honest I've seen little of Doak/Fellows so prepared to be persuaded they're better. Also if the fee quoted is accurate think Hutchison is a bit overpriced so he's moved down.

Also not included Mcatee as I think he's a bit more of a hybrid attacking midfielder cum winger and not the quickest. Although being greedy I'd have him aswell 🤣
Kubo is the one i'd like to see us sign most. Have a feeling it will be fellows and harrison instead though :(

Moyes comments at the end of the Gana article:

“We are delighted Idrissa has re-signed. His experience and his knowledge of the Club is going to be so important going forward with the introduction of lots of new players and the new stadium. Idrissa will play a big part in integrating everybody."
Aiuld 3 players be considered lots going on our previous windows
