Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Hard to know if he ends up there. If the finances are what they say they are at Man United they probably will have to look into offloading a few before forking out the likes of 40m. By the time that happens Delap will probably be gone somewhere else
It’s United. They’ll find a paper way to make financial issues go away so they can continue their spending spree.

Possibly. They seem to manage it and get away with psr. Just by going off reports and that Ratcliff doing an interview last month saying the club are significantly financially restricted until the turn of the calender year at least makes me think they won't be going on any spree. Mind you, I'd take that fellas words with a pinch of salt

Wonder will any of the relegated teams players have any contract clauses like Jack Harrison's one. Not that there be many in those 3 teams that be good enough to take on loan. Probably not established long enough in the league to have those clauses in their contacts anyway too I guess

Laughing at the suggestion we're in for the Delap at his 40 million release clause. Sounds great, the reality is very highly unlikely.
Is it? If we get taken over by billionaire ambitious owners, refinance debts, ease PSR restriction from the new financial year in July whilst moving in to a state of the art stadium, and then still can’t make a 40 million signing to compete with even the mid table clubs then seriously what’s the point? Brighton splashed 40 million on Rutter last summer. Wolves signed Cunha for 44 million, Leicester signed Tielemans for 40 million, bloody Bournemouth with their 12k piddly stadium splashed 40 million on Evanillson! And we can’t compete with these clubs STILL?

We’re talking Delap here as well, not Harry Kane. I’m far from convinced that a player who stank out the Championship with Hull last season scoring 8 goals in all competitions in 30 odd games in a lower tier, is suddenly head hunted by the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea!

Yes he’s done well this year, but so did that Luton striker last season in the Premiership who’s now disappeared that plenty were creaming themselves over in here. I personally would like to see more from him before risking big money.

We’re not going to be in a position to splash 40 million on several players which we need, that’s obvious. We’re going to have to box clever on a number of deals, but surely we can make ONE big money move? If he does end up with options, then Moyes has a job to do to sell the move to him if he’s the player we want. We’re moving to a brand new stadium, we have new ambitious owners who are looking to invest, and more importantly, we’ll make him our starting striker who’ll play every week instead of getting splinters in his arse at Stamford Bridge or the Emirates.

Grealish anyone?

…I remember watching him for Villa at Goodison and posting how over-hyped he was, then City go and waste £100m on him. Crazy. I’d not go near him myself, Jadon Sancho is another who has literally been transferred for mega bucks who is very ordinary.

I’d also be concerned about their desire to play after such megs-bucks deals leave them very comfortable.

Grealish anyone?
I mean, I would... if it weren't for the fact that he started at Villa, made his big move to City, and if they're now punting him - with Villa having raised their level significantly in the meantime and currently playing in a higher strata to ourselves - would he really be motivated to come down to us?

Why? It’s highly unlikely I’ll admit that he’d probably end up choosing us if the finances allow it, however there is money to spend in the summer.

Nothing in the way the club's acted over the last god-knows-how-many decades suggests we're serious, apart from the move for Lukaku. Everything else has been on the whim's of a billionaire lunatic. The squad's too screwed to be spending that kind of money on one position anyhow.
