If we’re looking at improvements to the team/squad based on last season then Tete is a definite upgrade on Young (even though Young performed admirably).

Right wing is where we should be able to see the biggest upgrade.

If you’re talking about Atangana, I didn't know he had any links to us. But I'd read that Leeds were in talks for him.

So are we taking “in talks with” as meaning “going to” now? And do we apply this theory to players that are in talks with us too, you know for fairness?

I think we’re clearly in the market for a new Gana either way, it probably becomes more pressing if the existing one actually leaves.

There are a couple of interesting free agents we are probably having a look at. One who Fulham were interested in - Neyou I think - who’s leaving Leganes will probably have been talked about by us behind the scenes.

2 important additions made with Tete and Alcaraz for about 15m that clearly upgrade the team over Young and Doucoure. Seems like a decent start.

Wouldn’t mind Frank Anguissa on a free. Had a really good season for Napoli. He’s 29 but would be a good addition to the midfield.

Thought he was good at Fulham and all. Great free signing, that.
