Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Every time I see another article from a dubious "news" site that says Moyes "approves" or "wants" some 34 year old, I shake my head.

If you look at his actual transfer history, the average age of players purchased is just under 25. If he has a profile, it's promising players as young as 22 and and established squad players as old as 28. There have been some older outliers when needed, like Danny Ings when he was 30 and Craig Dawson when he was 31, but Moyes has no track record of loving old players or being some "must have prem experience" dinosaur like Dyche. He's never been averse to taking players from the Championship and seems to favor players from Europe, especially Ligue 1.

Every link to some aging has been or castoff trying to cling the Premier League while Turkey beckons is just nonsense that isn't based in fact or backed by anything in Moyes' history.

Clickbait just needs you to click.

I just ignore it; much easier.

Often think it must be boring being a Chelsea fan mate, signing a random young Brazilian winger for 20 mill of a Tuesday, or a 17 year old Portuguese centre half - you’ll probably never see them again.

They have Nkunku there, signed him for £50 mill+, barely played many mins and be gone again, could only imagine the excitement if he signed here - in a way I’d hate to loose that.
No different to us except money wise, we’ve signed plenty of younger players who never seen Goodison.

Judging by the transfer pages on here most of our fans would love to do what Chelsea do. No patience at all.

That’s a default currently. As he’d be our only one. And I think he’d make a fine squad player.

I do think he’s better than Harrison and his pace would be useful. But he’s a solid step down from Ndiaye.
Ah, so you agree, great!

He scored 5 goals in 750 minutes on the wing to start this season for Juve. Who then decided to play him at fullback the rest of the year. Considering we need multiple wingers, a player of that production for 10-15m I think would be very good business for the squad.
