Guess I’m going to look for positives in that…

Mina
Gomes

Who account for about £230k a week will be off the books. That’s just shy of £12m a year saved.

Would expect a few others out, which leaves a nice big chunk of ages available (if we can).

While I don't think he's a bad player at all, I don't think he's what we need

We have Patterson who is maturing and, I would expect, we'll give Coleman another year - they sort out the right back areas

It's a specialist left back we need - Mykolenko just about does a job there, but he makes my eyes bleed with the ball at his feet.

Walker-Peters is a decent player, but he's right-footed and he wouldn't be enough of an upgrade at left back.

I don't have a name for you, but I'm hoping the club has a specialist left back in mind if we manage to stay up and are allowed to spend some money - that's quite apart from needing another striker, another wide player, a centre back (given Mina and Coady are off and Holgate needs punting) and ideally someone with a little bit of quality on the ball in centre mid.
Yeah, fair point. I’d still like to see more cover at RB because relying on Godfrey or Holgate to cover Patterson and an ageing Coleman isn’t ideal, but maybe we’d be better off with a specialist LB who can occasionally switch to the right rather than the other way round.

GK: Pickford/Tyrer

LB: NEW/Myko
CB: Branthwaite/Coady
CB: Tarkowski/Godfrey
RB: Patterson/NEW

CDM: Onana/Gana
CM: Garner/Warrington
CM: NEW/Doucs?

LW: McNeil/Gray/Nkounkou(if he hasn't got a clause)
ST: NEW/Dom/Cannon
RW: Iwobi/Mills

Granted we stay in the PL I would go for this personally. I would activate Coady's £4m release clause.

Sadly we just don't have the money for 4-5 new solid players unless we take risks from abroad.

gomes is a tricky one

he has another year left on his contract which means someone has to pay actual money to sign him

he's have a great season on loan to a french club but i very much doubt that the french club are paying his full wages

if gomes is to join them he'd have to take a significant wage cut

would he do that?

The most likely scenario with Gomes is that Nice might offer him 2.5m a year for 3 or 4 years and we’d demand a small fee of, say 5m, then give 2.5 to Gomes ourselves to take him up to the 5m he’d earn next year.

I think he will stay there, they seem to want it and he seems to have found a new lease of life in France, something will happen there imo.

We arguably have the best run in there

Coady still has a say though I assume? 4m for a backup CB is reasonable but given he came for first team football I’m not sure he comes when Dyche clearly doesn’t fancy him that much. It’s also another big wage to take on even though the fee is reasonable.

TBH I’d be more inclined to risk offering the 4m to Yerry for a one year extension and see what he says. Unlike Coady he instantly improves the first team.

Oh for sure, I don't see a future of him back at Wolves though so think he'll move somewhere. He might not mind as much being so close to home here.

Yez just cannot stay fit, we'd not be learning any lessons.
