A player nearing 30 who was told he was not wanted at Chelsea but still wouldn't move as he was happy picking up huge wages. And who was arrested for drunk driving as well lately.
No thanks.

We have missed having a useless midfielder who likes the occassional drink-driving since Gibson left. Sign him up Brandalf!

...apparently today is the longest day of the year, here’s the Toffee transfer rumours for Friday 21st June;

- Noticias De Gipuzkoa again report Everton interest in Real Sociedad Centre Back Diego Llorente, suggesting Everton will pay £27m to secure the Spanish international this summer. The irony is, Marca reported Everton interest in 2017 when the 25 year old played for Real Madrid and moved for just £7m.

- According to The Telegraph and various other outlets, Everton have opened talks with Chelsea about signing Kurt Zouma on a permanent transfer.

- French outlet, Le Phoceen say Everton have had a bid for Marseille’s 24 year old Argentinian forward, Lucas Ocampos, turned down.

- TNT Sports journalist, Maxmilano Grillo claims Everton’s pursuit of Santiago Sosa from River Plate might not quite be over; “Regarding Sosa, it’s about waiting at least until Friday, to know if the issues that have to do with the work permit can be accelerated and end up done”.

- Hull Daily Mail pick up on yesterday’s rumour linking Everton with a move for Hull City’s 22 year old winger, Jarrod Bowen.

- El Gol suggest Everton are willing to pay €40m for Atletico Madrid’s 27 year old right back, Santiago Arias. Sports Witness website say El Gol has a history of quoting wildly inflated numbers.

- The Liverpool Echo report a £1.9m bid from Wigan for Everton left back, Antonee Robinson. The 21 year old US international is contracted until 2021.

- Calciomercato say Everton target, Moise Kean, is set to sign a new contract at Juventus that will treble his wages.

Certainly hope we don't sell Robinson

Seeing as garbutt is probably never playing for us again, we should probably keep hold of Robinson

...not so sure, Mikey. I know your feelings on bringing these youngsters through, but the bottom line is that they have to be truly outstanding to make their mark in the top flight. There’ll be others coming through and potentially leapfrogging Robinson (Lewis Gibson?).

If the manager doesn’t want to use him (which seems likely given Baines was given a new contract), and with the squad already being too big, we have to move players on.

Arias denied he has spoken with Brands on a Dutch footy site. Said he was happy at Atletico and was hoping for a reunion with Lozano

There was never a link. Brands said he was a good player. 'Press' assumed that meant there was an incoming bid.
Utter guff this one.

If we have other young players coming through then that's one thing, but if he goes and it's just Baines and Digne then that's going to be an issue. We need adequate cover. If Gibson can provide that cover then fine

Ermm you forgot to include Neymar. Nailed on to switch from Gay Paree too L4.

I'd think that Baines' 1 year deal is to give Robinson another year on loan to see if he can actually do it for us.

Garbutt is firmly in the SEE YA! list and will be disappeared at the earliest opportunity. Whether we can avoid subbing his wages for another year in the process or not I don't know...

...Silva says he wants two competing for every position. In the unfortunate position both Digne and Baines were unavailable, then there should be enough options for the manager to overcome that situation. Gibson is a left sided CB, who has frequently played LB, but even if Silva doesn’t want to promote a youngster, he could go with 3CBs.
