Summer Transfer Window 2017

One of the worst things about the last week has been all that ambition, positivity, excitement and feel good factor generated by those early signings has been lost. There will be highs and lows throughout the season because we're a fickle bi-polar bunch - when we're high we're high and when we're low it's the end of the world but still it seems foolish to potentially (because we don't know if it will) let all that hard work early on go to waste by missing out on key targets.

He will do well to score 10 goals. We need another forward who can score 20 goals to go along with rooneys 10. Am i the only one who thinks all the other teams who can have a go at top 4 have 2/3/4 top forwards. We have rooney and dcl who between them ig given every match will score 18 at most.
2 in his first 2 PL games, but will "do well to score 10"

2 in 3 isn't exactly bad going so far mate. I had the same opinion as you before the season kicked off but im more optimistic now we will see Rooney get at least 15 this season.

Still need that 20 goal a season man like I agree

Come on you're exaggerating there. WE've got three CB's. Two of them contributed heavily to our best defensive record since 1989. Add in Holgate and that's 4.

Garbutt can play LB, not ideal I'll admit but he's still there.

We've got Lennon, Mirallas and Lookman for the wings.

Sandro is an out and out CF imo. He can certainly play there.

Im still hoping for several players tonight but it's not quite the nightmare scenario you've painted.

If you're ok going into a long season with 33 year old overweight Ashley Williams and 35 year old Phil Jagielka as first choice then fine. And Sandro as our only centre forward, cool bro. And as for those 3 wingers, just look at the state of those options.

It's a shambles. That is absolutely light years away from top 6 quality.

They didn't start attracting those players straight away though. They went through Ed De Gooy before landing Petr Cech, Celestine Babayaro before getting Ashley Cole, Benjani before Aguero etc etc. There was also less money about in football then and less teams in their way.

Its got nothing to do with the board, it's got more to do with there being better more glamorous options elsewhere.

Indeed, we can't even hold on to a die hard Evertonian.......

I'd rather we take a player on loan than buy Raul Jimenez for £50m just so we can say we spent money. Moshiri does have the dough, the reason he does is because he doesn't waste it.

Clearly the striker situation is not ideal. But it is also clear that we thought we would get Giroud, right up until the first weekend of the season, we've also tried to strike a deal for Costa but that it isn't happening.

The club are trying to get a top class striker in on a permanent deal and they won't settle for spending crazy money on some absolute dross.

Giroud said in an interview weeks ago he will be staying at Arsenal. Also, even if Giroud said he was thinking about joining us, we still should have been chasing other targets we had on the list while he was 'thinking' about it.
