Summer Transfer Window 2017

Maybe this season he hasn't made a lot of assists or key forward passes from open play, but what has he had ahead of him through out the whole season? Llorente that's a big lump and not one for running off the shoulder of CB's and apart from Sigurdsson himself they don't really have players that break from deep and get in the box. Fer does/did now and again but Sigurdsson seems the one to get forward and offer a goal threat.

I see a lot say "well he only assists from set pieces..." But I think they underestimate what a plus that can be for us. In certain games it could and can be the difference. Look at last week when he stuck a FK in at OT, that gained Swansea a point, now we took a point away at OT and if he does that for us he could be winning us the game. It's the same at West Ham the other week, a dreadful game of football but if we get a FK or corner with a player like Sigurdsson in the ranks, he could potentially put it on a six pence and someone slot an header away or he hits the top corner and we come away from a sh#*$¥ game with 3 points in the bag rather than one and over the course of a season that sort of thing can be handy cos more often than not you could turn draws into wins.

It's about having game changers, players that can make the difference and with his set piece ability he's got that in his locker. He's also a really good player with other strings to his bow and who wouldn't want a player like that?!

@hetion has a point but like you say, it's passing on responsibility to another player other than Barkley.

In that respect, you probably will get more out of each player as they'll be able to concentrate on what they're good at.

RE Rooney, he's still a shade above what we have and will more effective in the final 3rd when we're a little hit and miss.

As for pace. Depending on who he gets as a replacement for Rom, Bolasie will play a bigger part. Ross (if here) will probably get more freedom. We're not overly reliant on pace and I think getting another option on the bench will help.

True and i would question any team in the world who would be open to losing that kind of asset however he is one of the fringe players like willian and schneiderlin was that could be lured on a massive contract...

Wouldn't call him fringe he's played almost all their PL games this season.

@Eggs worth a watch from earlier this season mate

He's different class, hard to believe he's 19, nearly 20! He's still got time to grow and bulk out and already he's really good at holding up the ball and linking the play. But he's got really good feet and a quick turn of pace and I think we'd be mad not to go in for him this summer!

What did Ajax sell Milik for, £25m? Could take that or a bit more to get Dolberg as he's good now but gonna be a star in the future!....

...his back to goal technique is really good, love how he keeps the defender off with one arm in very much the same manner as Ibrahimovic. All natural shielding ability is that. When the ball is in front of him he really does have a look of a Torres about him. I appreciate the standard is poor but he would certainly compensate Lukaku leaving.

Loads used to question Milik when he did well at Ajax, could he do it in a better league against a better standard of player and before his injury he was on fire at Napoli! And Dolberg looks to have more about him and to his game than Milik.

Gonna be some player is Dolberg. I said ages ago, maybe not on here but IF Lukaku was to leave this summer, I'd be more than happy to take Rooney back plus Dolberg and another striker! Think we would have a good mix then, the experience of Rooney, youthfulness of Dolberg and then maybe a target man type CF but another, like Rooney, that Dolberg could learn from.

If he joined with Rooney and 1 other striker whose kind of in that 'peak age' 26-29 then IF we did lose Lukaku - the loss wouldn't feel as catastrophic.

Fantasy footy head would have us getting Dolberg, Rooney and Iheanacho and keeping Lukaku this summer

Would absolutely break the bank for Dolberg though

Totally agree, I've just said the same thing in reply to another post. But along with Rooney & Dolberg I think I'd like to see another target man brought in has in his first season it would ask a lot of Dolberg to do that kind of role week in week out as the premier league is much more demanding and unforgiving.

We need players for the here and now with a couple in for the future.
Ideally we need players that will improve us here and now AND with the potential to grow into top class players. Players lije Dolberg and Tielemans and possibly Pickford.

As things stand now we aint going to be able to afford more than one £50m player. Even if we can attract them. Unless we sell Rom of course.

Koeman has already said he wants to bring in players in the 26-29 category as that's what will benefit the team the most atm.

Just saying, don't expect us to be signing loads of young 'gems'.

He's also said that where Walsh is in it for the long term here and will possibly suggest players for the future, although a Dolberg would be for the now, him and Walsh will agree if it's the right player and still go for talents....
