Since when has Pep wanted Silva gone?

You say that and now he'll turn a poor one in! Haha.
One poor game doesn't and won't make him a poor player though....
Maybe this season he hasn't made a lot of assists or key forward passes from open play, but what has he had ahead of him through out the whole season? Llorente that's a big lump and not one for running off the shoulder of CB's and apart from Sigurdsson himself they don't really have players that break from deep and get in the box. Fer does/did now and again but Sigurdsson seems the one to get forward and offer a goal threat.
I see a lot say "well he only assists from set pieces..." But I think they underestimate what a plus that can be for us. In certain games it could and can be the difference. Look at last week when he stuck a FK in at OT, that gained Swansea a point, now we took a point away at OT and if he does that for us he could be winning us the game. It's the same at West Ham the other week, a dreadful game of football but if we get a FK or corner with a player like Sigurdsson in the ranks, he could potentially put it on a six pence and someone slot an header away or he hits the top corner and we come away from a sh#*$¥ game with 3 points in the bag rather than one and over the course of a season that sort of thing can be handy cos more often than not you could turn draws into wins.
It's about having game changers, players that can make the difference and with his set piece ability he's got that in his locker. He's also a really good player with other strings to his bow and who wouldn't want a player like that?!
True and i would question any team in the world who would be open to losing that kind of asset however he is one of the fringe players like willian and schneiderlin was that could be lured on a massive contract...
Worth mentioning that this works the other way round too.
One great game doesn't make him a great player.
I was saying that because I know if he bangs a free-kick in this forum will explode.
Wait until I mention again that the normal Saints fans I know down here are pretty sure he's joining them.
...his back to goal technique is really good, love how he keeps the defender off with one arm in very much the same manner as Ibrahimovic. All natural shielding ability is that. When the ball is in front of him he really does have a look of a Torres about him. I appreciate the standard is poor but he would certainly compensate Lukaku leaving.
If he joined with Rooney and 1 other striker whose kind of in that 'peak age' 26-29 then IF we did lose Lukaku - the loss wouldn't feel as catastrophic.
Fantasy footy head would have us getting Dolberg, Rooney and Iheanacho and keeping Lukaku this summer
Would absolutely break the bank for Dolberg though
Ideally we need players that will improve us here and now AND with the potential to grow into top class players. Players lije Dolberg and Tielemans and possibly Pickford.We need players for the here and now with a couple in for the future.
Koeman has already said he wants to bring in players in the 26-29 category as that's what will benefit the team the most atm.
Just saying, don't expect us to be signing loads of young 'gems'.
...according to this, we considered a move for Stephane Ruffier before deciding on Pickford;
