Bit of caution here....Ajax play the likes of Cambuur, Go Ahead Eagles, Heerenveen and my very own 2nd team Roda JC week-in, week-out. The level of opposition in the Eredivisie is akin to League One here albeit with more technical ability

I do get where your coming from, and the same could be said about Tielemans has his record is very similar but they've done it in Europe this season aswell against a better level of opposition. But both players can finish and have a knack of getting into good positions either in and around the box or in it to get goals so I'm sure they would score in the premier league.

Pickford isn't a great improvement on Robles.

Poor signing if this comes off.

I wouldn't say it would be a poor signing, he will become a very good GK but I agree, right now, at this point, he isn't a big enough improvement on what we've got!

I'd rather we went for a more experienced GK, and I don't mean someone in their 30's exactly either, just someone who has a few more seasons under his belt and who is better. Someone like Hart, Schmeichel, Leno, Anthony Lopes of Lyon, Rui Patricio even.

But maybe Pickford is one of those signings we feel we need to make now or rue later on down the line when he does become the GK he should?!

Liverpool and Leicester both signed German keepers and not to great success. Not a guaranteed success to go there

Tbf Zieler wasn't brought in to be No.1 or take over from Schmeichel. Karius was brought in to be Liverpools No.1 and it hasn't worked out but he wasn't the most highly rated young GK in Germany, not even one of. Fair enough he was highly rated but there was other's that were ahead of him and there's some top GK's in the Bundesliga!

The problem is Dolberg will want first team football whilst we seem hell bent on keeping Rom. Unless Koeman is going to go 4-3-3 I can't see how we will be bringing any forward in who isn't a clear back up sub player like Valencia.

So David Silva is still a beast, killing palace right now, pep wants him gone and this is the type of signing that would keep rom...

Realistic or fantasy?

The evidence to work off is way too thin, imo.

27 appearances in the PL. Done well, but is the gamble a wise one? You only usually get one shot at this for a good few seasons - unless you're United under SAF when they changed them every season or two!

Butland needs to prove his ankle injury isn't a long term problem that will dog him. That'll take a good bit of time before he's worth spending a fortune on.

That's why I think he'll stay there for atleast another season. He was talking recently about how the club was there for him and looked after him when he was out so he'll feel he owes them a bit and will give it another season imo.
